watching the Kings/Hawk game.
observations.

Kings are getting into the zone too easily
Hawks defense are slow, getting burned by speed, easily pressured by dump and chase.
Hawks defense coverage is pretty bad

Kings are much better skaters
Kings board work looks a bit weak in the O zone.
Kings like to hit.

Pretty much what I was thinking. The coverage on that goal was not good. In other news, it feels so weird as a Rangers fan to be sitting and waiting to find out who our next opponent is going to be... I'm not used to this.

if fans can see all these things, what will the professional scouts see? I hope AV and co. are concocting a masterful game plan with counter attacks already built in.

Look at the Rangers best players in the CF: Henrik, Mac, Boyle and Kreider. None are Canadian.

On the Power Play, Scott Laughton (who I liked) said Dan Girardi was "outstanding" in Game 4, when he was clearly the worst of the 6 dmen that game and that's including his great pass on the Brass goal. Of course, he mentioned the OHL and being a Leafs fan

I'm not overly concerned with the nationality of players. What I mean is I loved the Rangers when they were Jean Ratelle, Rod Gilbert, Brad Park, Giacomin etc. I have loved them no less as more players from other countries, including USA, have joined the ranks. I just don't care where they are from. If some kid I know made the NHL, I would care, but that is not primarily because he is Canadian, it is because he is this kid I know.
When it is international play, I want Canada to win, but I always just want honesty from the media. I am smart enough to know that humans are biased, and that the media makes money from bias, but it is always necessary to kick back at that kind of bias and expose it, whichever side of the border it comes from.

That is what my remarks earlier are about; just give credit where credit is due. Don't dwell on Crosby all the time during the Penguins series if it is not warranted. Dwell instead on the Rangers players who are making a difference. Seems like obvious common sense to me.

The Kings have faced three shaky goaltenders. Six of you count the scrub backups.

the David and Goliath BS is soooooooo ****ing dumb and old. In this day and age, anybody can beat anybody. There are no guarantees. Only in the NBA and a true home court advantage can you pretty much predict a series is over before it's started.

Hello, Kings. Meet Henrik Lundqvist - the best goalie you will have ever faced over your last three postseasons.

The Rangers are a friggin machine right now. I don't care who they beat or how long it took.

They've won 7 of 9, have the front runner for the Conn Smythe and their special teams since Game 5 of the Pens series has been excellent.

Like I've been saying for a while - since Christmas the Rangers tied the Ducks and Blues for the 2nd best record in the NHL behind Boston.

This is no fluke Cinderella story.

I don't really care about nationality... I kinda use it as a stereotype ie silky smooth swedes (cuz they don't have many grit or tuff guys) but u can defiantly tell NBC has a strong anti Russian sentiment... Most likely a result of all the ex players they have growing up in the cold war
