It makes zero sense to go after him. How will the Rangers rotate between Gaborik, Nash, Callahan and Zuccarello? Nash and Gaborik haven't exactly worked out on LW.

Someone has to put up points. and it's not going to be 4th liners from the AHL especially if they buy out richards.

Does the current team need more wingers, though? One of the issues with the top line (kreids-steps-nash) is that kreids and stepan are really inexperienced. You can't have a top line with that much youth and parity in talent.

Rather go for a center...

and what center is out there that can fill a #1/2 center roll? Lets be serious, thronton will not be avaliable come july.

Zuccarello is the only one of those 4 who won't be (or at least hasn't been so far) injured for 20-30 games a season. There would be plenty of room.

that's the real issue...what centers are really available that could fit this role. Jeff Carter (if he stays healthy)? Koivu? Hudler?

After all this crap about the Western conference's superiority, the Wings are moving east and may very possibly miss the playoffs for the first time in 23 seasons.

Crazy. They're never missed the playoffs in my life. It would just be weird without them. I hope they make instead of the Leafs / Dovals.

Haha, the Blue Jackets kicked the **** out of the Caps. Nice.

@Real_ESPNLeBrun: Hearing G Steve Mason has signed an extension with PHI."/ 3 years, $4.1M AAV.

The Flyers suck. Mason plays a good 30 games and gets paid 4M for 3 years? The goalie market is going to be flooded this summer with better, more proven options. What if Mason does his 'one good year for my team and then suck' routine in Philly? Talk about not making someone prove themselves/earn it.

do you think we could make such a trade and keep zucc?

I think they'd start by asking for someone like Hagelin/Zucc, neither of which I'd want to part with to re-acquire Gaborik. I don't see any point in going after him again and I really hate trading so much with that club at this point. There's 27 (excluding the Debbies) other teams to look at who have better choices/more healthy players than what CLB has to offer. With all this talk of "We need a winning attitude and winning players and a winning mindset", it's funny* that CLB has been one of the only clubs the Rangers have done anything with over the last year (for NHL players at least).

(*: depressing)

MSL scores #25
Pavelski scores #25
Marleau scores #21

....

and we have top guys with barely over a dozen.

Rick Nash: 12 goals, 21 points
Marty St. Louis: 25 goals, 49 points

One is on team Canada. Ones also old as dirt (not really, just in hockey years). I wonder which one works harder?

Lets conveniently ignore Nash being on a much worse team, and being injured half the year.

Lets conveniently Nash being on a much worse team, and being injured half the hear :rollseye:

He has less points than St. Louis has goals. I'm so tired of people making excuses for Nash his whole career. Tampa's a "much better team"? They're over performing on the back of the hottest goalie in the league. And St. Louis is keeping them afloat. Bishop and St. Louis are carrying them to where they are in the standings. Nash isn't carrying us anywhere. And St. Louis is doing it without Stammer. If anyone asked before the season who would be better, NY or Tampa, NY would win hands down. And if Nash was performing like St. Louis we'd be right there with them in the standings.
