I like Ovechkin now, didn't like him for a while. Hearing him say that he was not good last night in a Capitals 5-1 loss was good.

Remember when people did not talk about 'system' all the time? Remember when forcing a player like Bure to backcheck and be 'defensively responsible" was not even a thought?

Dale Hunter tried to enforce the premise and philosophy of everybody being the same, everybody has to do the same heavy lifting on defence. We all know how that worked out in Washington.
Now, Ovy is back in business, a throwback to the old cherry-picking, all offense for those players built to score.
Fun to watch a guy that talented. Since I could care less about Washington's success, it's fine with me.

I'd rather have Crosby. I don't care how much of a punk ***** he is or how much I hate him on the Penguins. Ill drive you from Pittsburgh to Manhattan, Sidney.

I'd rather have Crosby, too. What I'm saying is that I actively root for Ovy and like watching him play. I've never been one to boo him or do the "Ovy sucks" chant at the 8:00 mark in the playoffs the last three years.

Crosby... I will get on the boards and scream he sucks to his face if I had front row.

Someone may have mentioned something similar to this recently.
Maple Leafs and Rangers have each played 56 games.
The Rangers have 27 ROW, the Leafs have 20, yet the Leafs are a point ahead.

That is the NHL way of rigging the points, too bad it is like that.
Actually, too bad there even has to be such a thing as ROW in the standings. Win, Tie or Loss was better than getting a point for losing in OT.

Regardless, the Leafs shouldn't be sniffing a playoff spot. They're a terrible team riding unsustainable luck.

I guess it's a good news for us if weaker teams make the playoffs, so Go Leafs.

Rangers have not done well vs the Leafs as of late... no way id want to face them in the playoffs... but look at the Canes they are now 3rd behind the Rangers. :amazed:

The way the NHL's point system works is really starting to infuriate me. More than ever before.

The Islanders have 15 ROWs out of 57 games. FIFTEEN! They're 9 points out of the playoff picture. The Caps have 16 out of 55. They're two points out.

****ing losers point. ****ing skills competition. In what world should a regulation win be one point more than a ***ing shootout win?

You can't complain about both loser points and the skills competition. If you don't like the shootout because it's a skills competition, how can you not like the loser point for losing the skill competition?
