Awful back to back losses for the Jackets.

The Jackets have out of nowhere become one of the best teams in the league over the past ~20 games. I'm not sure what their record is over this period, but they have been outplaying their opposition on a nightly basis.

I fear that they will be our 1st round opponent as they will be a very tough opponent if they keep this up.

And all this despite playing Jack Johnson 25 minutes a night, how is it possible!? Murray and Wisniewski have been unreal.

Jackets are 12-8 over their last 20 (had a nice 7 game win streak in their last 10).
For comparison, the Rangers are 12-6-2 over their last 20

Alright their record isn't fantastic, but they've gone from a consistent ~45% FenClose team to start the season to a 55%+ one in their last 20 or so games. I'm genuinely curious in what changed, as such 20 game stretches rarely come out of nowhere. A team is usually either a good or bad possession team with some shorter streaks spread out, but 20 games is a lot.

If they can keep up this level of play they will easily make the playoffs and may be a legit threat in the East.

Ryan Johanesen. Kid is Getzlaf junior. He's an absolute beast, and he lets Dubinsky slot down to the 2C position. They're just a fast, hardworking possession team that drives their opponents nuts. They're like a lite-Blues.

Yep. No surprise that JD is heading that team up now too. He built that Blues team. Now he is building the same thing in Columbus except he has a better goalie to start with.

They won't. You can relax about them. Teams go on hot streaks or losing streaks. Look at the Blackhawks right now. Doesn't mean they suck.

After last night's games, the Rangers are now outside the games-in-hand margin. In other words, if every team won their games-in-hand on the Rangers, we would still be the 2nd place team in the Metro.

So starting next year, the Phoenix Coyotes will be the Arizona Coyotes. Ok.

Phoenix Coyotes announced today that they will officially change their franchise name to the Arizona Coyotes beginning next season.

Name has no ring to it. At all.

No more or less ring to it than Arizona Cardinals... At least I can sort of picture coyotes in the desert... but only if I pronounce it "KAH-yoat."

Scrivens has a 42 save SO working and its only the end of the second. Holy ****.
