Can we trade coaches back now? :sarcasm:

Yeah, I've been waiting for the Tortscano to finally blow, and blow it did. Don't have a problem with the line brawl, but going into the hall outside the Flames' dressing room between periods was straight-up WWF stuff. No idea what he was thinking with that one. Still, rallying cry, team-building and everything else. Personally, I love his passion.

Also, lost in the hand-wringing and rending of clothes by the sports media and folks on the main board is that Alberts is still out with a concussion after the high hit from McGratten last time the Flames and Canucks played.

He's one of those guys you love to have when he's your coach. His act kind of wore tired here because the teams style can take a toll on the fans. But for the most part I really enjoyed his tenure here. Outside of him banishing Sean Avery! :(

Who? There's a "name the most overrated D-man" thread and I didn't even see one meoutntion of McD. If he was mentioned on that thread it's an honor. Pretty much every top D-man was mentioned on it.

Idk who it was but I'm pretty sure it was a leafs fan...and then I saw a flames fan say danny G was overrated...kinda think that thread was to bash on defense man people personally don't like

Was it on that thread or just in general? And I've thought Girardi was overrated for a while now though. Though he's been really good recently. People that think McDonagh is overrated are in the minority. The guy is probably on par with OEL but gets about 1 percent of the hype.

It was on the overrated d man thread on the main board

ESPN Power Ranking came out. How can they justify Leafs jumping over Rangers is beyond me.

Well, the Leafs look like they've broken out of their long slump. I understand it. What I find strange is that he talks about them opening up some breathing room... but if either of the two teams immediately behind them win their games in hand, they'd pass the Leafs, all else being equal. Would the Leafs be ranked 11th if they were behind Detroit and Columbus?

Of course, the same is true for us.

The Islanders defenders and goalies are so bad, I feel physically ill watching that game. Seriously.

At least now I get how some of their fans think, DeHaan is playing at Calder level. In the country of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

speaking of the Calder...cam talbot hit the minimum game requirement after the Senators game, so if you go on NHL.com he is first place in GAA and Save % and his sexy mug is picture on top of some big names SUCK IT :yo:

Has he been as good as they've been harping about? I don't trust them since they argued that Hamonic was as good as, if not better than, McDonagh. They've been so terrible for so long that the fanbase basically pumps the tires of any player who doesn't **** the bed regularly.

that's actually kind of hilarious.

well, lets put it like this, at least he actually plays defense. He has flashes of a lot of potential offensively, but gets outmuscled rather easily. I can see why they like him, he can be a good #2-3 defender who can put up a nice amount of points imo.
I still think Hamonic is going to be okay, he just needs to go back to being a defensive defender. That 2-way stuff isn't for him right now.

He's okay. Definitely a stand out because the Islanders are an absolute joke on defense. On this team, he'd be our #5, to put it in perspective. Has a similar skillset to Conor Allen.
