You hate to see it. Tbh if Carlson wasn’t having a generational season, Dougie would be in Norris talks at this stage. We got back some great players but like I said at the time of the deal we gave up our heir apparent to Gio.
At this point I see him as being a Norris finalist. He's having an amazing season.

Dougie wasn't working out here so I'd still do that trade everyday. Hell, I'd trade Hamilton straight up for Lindholm.

As miserable of a season as Hanifin is having, Hamilton leaving also let Giordano take over offensively.

He's also outscoring the 3 busts Boston took from the trade but I doubt their team cares either

You would trade a top dman for an average 2nd liner?

He put up 78 points last year and he’s on pace for 30+ goals 60+ points this year. He can play center or wing and he’s on a bargain of a contract

It’s arguable whether or not the trade ends up being a win but calling him an average second liner is disingenuous

It also should be noted that Fox wasn’t going to play here

He cant drive his own line. That makes him average. If he is the best player on his line then I would say he is a star or above average. He is not. I am not hating Lindholm but a star he is not. At least not at the same level as Dougie.

The Pacific actually frustrates me with how awful it is, I want the Flames to win and make the playoffs because they're good. Not because the other teams in the division are so inept that we qualify by default while playing like crap.

I’m Okay with either. We need to have success in the playoffs for this team to truly believe in itself for once. Until then we will always be Jekyll and Hyde

Decade of Dysfunction in Edmonton.

Most Top 10 Draft picks with 9.
Most top 5 draft picks with 6.

Worst decade point total by 168 points behind the 15th placed club. By comparison Calgary was 17 points behind the 15th placed club. If it weren't for Buffalo, Edmonton would be in a league of their own.

Just noticed that 168 pts is more than one season of 0 wins... 164 potential points in a season.

In other words Edmonton could go 82W in one season and still be shy of the average.

The Oilers could be where the Avs are right now if Chiarelli didn't take over the Oilers. He honestly inherited the easiest circumstances of all time and just had to stay the course and fill out the team gradually over 2-3 years. I think my favourite trade of his is Caggiula (McDavid's friend, decent depth guy) for Manning (guy who unashamedly broke his collarbone)

I’m not one to speculate but it looks like Lafreniere just blew out his ACL and MCL and whatever other CLs a person has in their knee. Yikes that did not look good

1. I hope he's okay he's a joy to watch play.
2. I don't want to be overdramatic but Canada's chances now look quite bleak to me. I'm viewing a lot of these guys for the 1st time but to me it seems like their "best players" (who aren't Lafreniere) are passengers.

Hopefully it is similar to McDavid's knee at the end of last season where it looks worse than it is.
