Hayes ain't scoring 19 again, unless you put him on the first line, first powerplay unit (he was on both when he scored all those goals) and he has a little bit of luck.

Anyways, happier every day that we weren't really in on O'Reilly beyond a weak kick of the tires. What. A. Moron.

I worked in a restaurant/bar throughout college, and there are a **** ton of people who drive drunk.

Hell, my brother came home this past Christmas, and he was astonished how many of his friends drive after quite a few drinks.

I feel like Pittsburgh's pretty bad with that. Southside doesn't help.

Listen to the radio, every other commerical has to do with warnings about DUIs.

Pittsburgh's bad with that because it's so decentralized and spread out and because public transit ends before the bars close.

Yeah, it definitely invites drunk driving. I was just saying it's pretty damn common.

Oduya to the Dallas Blackhawks

I feel like if this was still the Shero Bylsma Penguins we would have managed to sign Sharp and Oduya and not trade for Kessel honestly. Seems like exactly the classic Pens off-season. Glad we are avoiding that cycle.

Possibly. I mean Shero definitely wasn't going after Kessel. That said, I would gladly take Oduya for 2 years at that cap hit if we could have moved out Scuds.

So, in 2016-17, the #ducks will have $23.75M in cap space tied up in 30-something forwards Corey Perry, Ryan Getzlaf and Ryan Kesler.

Add Kesler to the list of players that have a higher cap hit than Kessel (for us). I like the trade more every day.

Think about what we were ready to give up for Kesler last year + now having to extend him at that price compared to what we got Phil for. I'm happy how things turned out, can't wait for the start of training camp.

yeah, wyshynski is flipping out about people comparing the kesler and kessel deals, but knowing how close the pens came to acquiring kesler it seems like a valid exercise while allowing for differences in when the contracts were struck

They are so top heavy they will never win a cup!

Is there a better non-elc contract in the league than Hossa @ 5.275m?

Keith at 5.538M.

The ability to front-load contracts created some deals that look crazy good right now. Within 3 or 4 years, almost every 'star' player in the league will have a higher cap than Crosby.
