Bruce said F it and just went full run and gun.

Or the team said F it.

Dang. You're right. I misread the post in question. Makes a great deal more sense then @Better Call Maul :).
What did I miss here?

Boeser has like 4 goals and is not playing up to his potential, ever, really. I think he'd be a great add based on his ties with Jake and him just coming in to be a scorer vs the hype they had on him in Vancouver and likely just needs a change of scenery but he's on like year 5 of potentially breaking out with a massive tag.

I'd have been all over the Pens wanting him on the roster, but right now, there's no move to be made that makes sense.

Also, wtf happened to Poulin? Is JD-Dipshit already f***ing with the prospects' heads?

It’s two years in a row Poulin has struggled with “personal issues”. Probably either a family thing or something personal. Dunno. Seems like a him situation and hopefully everything works out for him.

Remember when we all laughed at the ROR trade because Tage didn't impress right away, we all have eaten crow on it, I'm a fan of the lad since last season, he's not talked about enough.

Absolute unit of a lad and he can skate and score.

St Louis won their first cup ever with ROR being a Smythe winner. No eating crow lol

What's the story on Forrest?

Whatever's going on, I hope Poulin is getting help and can sort himself out.

Tage is a monster. He's not gonna run through guys with his size but the way he uses his body to shield the puck and his reach to change angles on shots is unreal. Really fun player. We should all be stoked whenever a guy breaks out and plays some exciting hockey.

As for Boeser, if he's not getting top PP unit time he's a bad target imo--and I don't think he'd be getting top PP time over somebody like Rust. All he really has is his shot, which is really impressive tbf, but when he's not scoring he's not really doing anything else. I think we've got that archetype covered on this team.

TWO empty netters. It just annoys me.
I laugh at people who are unsure of whether Malkin would have more points on a team of his own, rather than playing behind Crosby.

Ovechkin (who is slow and terrible defensively) and Crosby have a metric ton of EN points between them this season, while Geno has zero. On his own team, away from Sullsma, Malkin would have been fed these opportunities like the other two get and could have scored 51 career EN goals by now, like Ovechkin did. Geno would be looking at hitting 500 goals this season if that were the case.

I thought you were talking about Tage Thompson having a bad contract. And I disagreed fiercely - and pointlessly - given that you were talking about Boeser, and I agree entirely on that matter.
Tenderly Ripped into me about a bloke I wasn't even talking about, what a wanker.

Yeah Boeser's contract is awful, I think JR would have actually given him a worse one than Benning ended up giving him, which I find more comical. Tage btw, at 25 is just finally realizing his potential, before the start of last season, he was still a joke of a center piece for ROR, by the end of last season everyone was like "Ok ok...I see you now."

He stated in an interview that I can’t find that he was having personal issues that coincided with his bad start and they cleared up after his scratch.
I think....I am probably alone in this or I'm not, but mental health is treated the same way it normally is in Sports Culture. Mostly if not completely ignored. It's kind of like you talking to a mate about how you're feeling mentally and your mate changes the topic. That's how I know sports treats this sort of thing. They like to parade out the Mental Health Awareness, Cancer this, etc etc as promotions to stay woke and aware, but when it comes to actual mental health issues, it's seen as a massive red flag and joked about.

We saw it here when Marc-Andre Fleury sought out a Sports Psychologist when his game went really off the rails in the playoffs and he started to lose his focus and other issues, why is that seen as a bad thing? A ton of blokes here mocked and still mock Kasperi Kapanen when it was learned he had confidence issues and was severely self doubting himself. I read Jesse Puljujaarvi talking about not having it and I feel sorry for the lad. I joke about Matt Murray (I fully support his mental health, I just don't like his personality from the several interviews we saw as a Penguin, I digress...), but when he last his Father, we all showed support and does it really take losing a parent or loved one to show that sort of compassion?

Brock Boeser, another example - His father was severely ill for a while, finally passed and while he is up and down in his career (even before we all found out about his father's illness), to think that sort of thing doesn't affect someone is kind of bizarre. Now in Poulin's case, who knows what it is, it could be a mental health issue, there are several players that are going through it and I feel have a hard time because they're likely told to toughen up and play through it, Drouin had his bouts. What would it take for the NHL or Sports to really take it seriously?

Would Connor McDavid, Lionel Messi, Lebron James, Lamar Jackson, etc all need to come out and say they had mental health struggles, suicidal thoughts, depression, and that they sought out help and are in treatment for fans/media/owners/etc to say "Ok, f***, we all need to have a Psychologist/Therapist on staff and make sure these players are looked after properly, we've already failed them a ton with pressuring to play through injuries, concussions, etc."

Mostly because, unfair or not (and I go back and forth on this, because I want to believe it's unfair, but I also don't want people to shit on me for being weak), men are expected to be tough bastards and show no emotion ever. No excuses, just keep your head down and keep working, because the pack can smell weakness and will eat you alive to keep you from slowing them down. Suffering in Silence builds character, after all.

I don't know. It's probably some form of trauma response in me talking.

He stated in an interview that I can’t find that he was having personal issues that coincided with his bad start and they cleared up after his scratch.

I found a Kingerski article where it says Poulin is being excused from a pre-season game because of personal reasons. A number of other articles I've read don't say anything about other personal issues.

And I just found one from Matt Vensel with the Post Gazette:

"On the ice, he quickly realized that many AHL players were big, fast and strong, and he couldn’t get away with some tactics that helped him dominate inferior athletes during his standout career in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
Off the ice, he grappled with personal issues he did not want to get into during a phone interview with the Post-Gazette. Living on his own was also an adjustment. Not only did he have to fend for himself, he had idle hands. When at home or living with his billet family in juniors, he always had something going on.
“I’ve never been someone who just stayed home and watched Netflix all day,” he said. “It was a rush getting my apartment set up. As soon as that calmed down, I realized I had a bunch of free time to kill. I was really not used to that.”
Poulin eventually got into cooking, making meals for roommate Felix Robert, his former junior teammate and occasional linemate with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, and himself. Poulin, a music lover who dabbled with DJing in the past, started “mixing tunes” in their apartment. He has also enrolled in a college class.
Poulin, who turned 21 on Friday, reports he is now in a better mental state."

Hope he gets better soon.
