Oh, the refs have Tkachuk tied up?

Yeah.... I guess its safe to play a badass for a moment....
Tkachuk is the one who went after Ullmark. That clip cuts out Tkachuk hitting Ullmark before being jumped by Carlo and Forbort. Then he went after Ullmark again when the ref was dragging him away. Less about being a badass and more that Ullmark was standing up for himself. Good for him for doing it too, Tkachuk is a dirtbag.

The stick to Ullmark's head, then he grabs Ullmark's mask, then he forearms him in the head. I get why he's going after the worm there.

Are rat toys being tossed during this Melee? Also, couldn’t you replace them with Marchand figurines and its the same thing?

Yeah, goes back to the '95 team when Mellanby had the two goals and killed a rat in the dressing room, thus the "Rattrick" was born.

I have yet to see a playoff game that made it feel like I had any idea what the rules were. Almost glad the Sabres aren't in it so I don't have to deal with the frustrations of such a shittily managed league, with no consensus on the rules.
Almost. :sarcasm:

Meh, Looks like Tkachuk had his stick underneath Ullmark's body after the fighting for the puck. Then Tkachuk wrestle's it free which makes contact with Ullmark's mask.

I have no problem whatsoever with either party's actions and what happened here. Just your typical intense playoff hockey atmosphere.

This wouldn't even make my top 50 dirty moments of this year's playoffs to this point.

The NHL bills their playoffs as the best of any sports league, and generally they are. But it's almost like the league feels they need to reinforce that idea by artificially attempting to keep the games close through officiating. Not always, but very often the team trailing is going to get favorable calls.

You're describing "game management"..........which is an issue all season, not just in the playoffs.

It sure seemed that way with the penalties called on the Kings in the second period last night. Ticky-tack stuff that let EDM climb right back in the game.

Game management in the playoffs is totally different than how they apply it during the season. Doesn't change your point, just saying...it's f***ing bizarre that teams have to spend 3 games figuring out how the refs are going to be calling the playbook.

I dunno. What I've seen isn't all that different from the last 10 Sabres games. The team behind can do everything but blatant high-sticking and over-the-glassing and get away with it. The team ahead can't breathe on the opposition.
