Ottawa’s goose is just about cooked. They are staring at their 4th consecutive loss. So much for Chychrun putting them over the top this year.

By the way, the Penguins lost to this exact Montreal team in regulation two nights ago.

Chychrun move wasn’t about this year. It was about getting talent on the team from this point and onward. It’s being proactive about acquiring assets for your organization.

This Rags/Pens game reminds me of the Sabres game last night. Rangers are not converting on their high-danger chances and letting the Pens hang around.

The ability of NHL players, probably some of the strongest skaters in the world, to feel a stick tap their shin pad or down near their skate and then fly through the air to draw a call is amazing to me.

Foerster whose name my phone tries to autocorrect gets his first career goal and now has a 2-game point streak after getting his first point last night against the Sabres.

I feel slightly better now that Canes had a tough time dealing with Philly. Not much better, but a bit.

Pens look as bad as us recently. Maybe the wildcard will end up being the Islanders and the Panthers?

Some Campbell vibes there.

Also interesting to listen to the Wild broadcast talking about how the GM's meeting went into great lengths because of this very thing - guy gets popped with a legal hit and immediately gets jumped. The numbers that came out where that over 100 such incidents have happened this year in the NHL but the instigator was only called in 2/5ths of them. Seems officiating consistently would be a helluva lot better for the game but it wouldn't be a surprise to see them tinker more with it like making it a double minor (which in turn seems like it will make the officials even less likely to call it).
