Around the NHL: PTO Season Becomes Waiver Season

Briere said that they won't have a fire sale.

I think he will be smart and move the right guys and holding on to the guys that it makes sense to hold on to.
I agree that they wont move a Konecny or a Frost as those are young players they want to grow. However, a Laughton/Hayes/Sanheim/Provorov piece should absolutely be available, and at a minimum I'd be calling to see what the price would be.

A sad reminder to the Regier tenure. both co-captains became involved with the teams the left for after
their careers had ended.
In hindsight I would have kept Briere if I had the choice for one

Provorov seems to be a guy that will get shopped. And I would have no interest in trading for him.

Sanheim and Laughton are guys that would intrigue me if they shop them, though.

So that's three 2005-2006 Buffalo Sabres players as GMs now? Am I missing anyone?
Nope, but Soupy might be on the path to be the next one:

Hayes to Columbus had some talk prior to the deadline, wonder if that comes back in the offseason to clear Hayes from the Flyers, even if there is some retention.

Habs back on top 5-4 on the Pens

Rutta went down (hit by puck) and needed help getting off the ice
