If we were paying the piper to obtain a forward one way or the other via trade I much prefer EP in the off-season, so this is good.

Good deal from ANA's perspective too.

Never saw nothin that had me interested. Like a downy pillow when you packin camping supplies. Unnecessary. A Swiss Army knife for fruit loops. Best of luck to him.
🤣 a Swiss army knife for fruit loops. First time hearing that saying

He stopped doing what made him successful two seasons ago. The drop between checking line guy and AHL guy isn't that far.
People excused Eichel because he had so many coaches. Not sure why lessor skilled players don't get the same grace. Going from Taylor to Housely to Krueger probably derailed a few players development.

Interesting idea, but I don't think whip around coverage works as well here. At least in the NFL play isn't continuous, making it easier to flip between games when the teams are huddling up, and you have more warning when a team might score since you can see where they are on the field. Maybe you show every time a team goes on a PP? But there's going to be a lot of "moments ago, this happened in this other game."

Plus it's ESPN, so I'm sure they'll find a way to ruin the whole experience, like Messier talking the whole time and barely having any actual hockey televised.

They already have. Buccigross is the one commentating it, the guys job is play by play and he talks during the play like he's the color commentator while forcing in hockey lingo from 15 years ago. It's absolutely maddening.

I dunno. I'm intrigued and will certainly give it a go. Bucci might not be the best PbP guy..........but I could see him doing well in the Hanson-like role where he doesn't have to do PbP all the time and just kind of oversee things.

I guarantee ESPN is hoping this will drive more subscribers so I'm sure it will.
It's also ESPN and they're known for doing dumb things so..... 🤷‍♂️

Looks like it won't be on ESPN+.

With every team in action, ESPN2 will provide whip-around, live look-ins on every game from 8-11 p.m., showcasing the best plays, hits and goals of the night.

I get all the channels on ESPN+
I ditched cable TV years ago. Last season I had to subscribe to the Disney+ streaming package to get ESPN+, and it's NHL coverage.

When I login to ESPN+, there is programming available from other ESPN channels, but only if you provide your cable subscription credentials.

Is that how you get them?
