I had more the foot in the crease in mind from Dallas; nevertheless its nearly 20 years, the other thing 25 years ago;
If anything it shows that there was nothing going on around here for nearly 20 years, that people have to have reanimate stoneage dreams to keep any sense of former playoff antagonists.
I really dislike how Dallas gets away with scumming us when we play them, in much the same way that TBL get away with it. Pretty sure Jamie Benn boarded one of our young guys recently? But I can't remember which one.

I also really dislike the rabid Heiskanen fans of HF boards.

Edit: I hate Rod Brinad'amour. It would be like if Teddy Bruski or somebody came back and coached the Patriots.

Benn gave Dahlin a cheapshot a couple seasons ago.

And the Heiskanen thing - former members of the Stars press group were told to generate a Dahlin-vs.-Heiskanen thing and it seems ever basement in Finland is still filled with people who want to keep that fight going.

Yea I was gonna say I think that is almost entirely driven by Finnish fans. There aren't a ton of Stars fans on this board, and most of the ones that are, aren't the ones making much of a fuss over the Dahlin/Heiskanen thing. I'd argue some Sabres fans can probably be more obnoxious in that regard :laugh:

Some? :laugh:

I kid, I kid.

In other news, I haven't yet recovered from working the OT game last night.

Going from Leafland to performing life support on Crosby’s Penguins seems like a step down in stress but still extremely high.
Dubas is really a mixed bag. He's drafted fairly well, and he's done a good job identifying under the radar guys like Bunting and Hyman, but he's also done a terrible job at getting reasonable contracts from his core. Overpaying for what he was getting in term, or overpaying for a guy like Tavares who wanted to be a Leaf and should have taken a slight discount to be one.

Anyone remember when the Leafs snagged Babcock when we thought we were signing him? It looked as if the Leafs were going to be a POWER HOUSE.

It turned out just as well as us Sabres fans can hope for in regards to the Leafs. It's too bad we were a tire fire for most of those years, but the Leafs struggling in the playoffs eased that pain a bit!

Whatever it is Arizona should be thrilled. They’re not trying to ice a roster next year and they don’t use a year of his ELC

They have Geunther coming back next year and were looking to have him and Cooley breaking in together. That's not great for them on the ice, but that franchise is such a mess, this isn't a surprise.

I wonder if the league is going to finally realize the mistake of allowing the rest of the NHL dump all of that dead cap on the Yotes? Even if some of it is covered by insurance, I doubt all of it is.

What a short sighted decision. But hey, if it breaks Toronto and has them fall back down with the rest of the league, then so be it.

I'd pay an untold amount of money to get the turn around foundational mindset that Babcock laid down vs what crap Bylsma laid down. Sure he might've been let go after a few seasons, but expectations from the players amongst themselves would've been better and the organization would've been in a better place. I'd say we wouldn't have had to deal with Krueger at any point.
