Only teams that I see who have had two eventual winners have never had two who left and won it, only ones who won it on the same team or where one won it (MacInnis and Stevens and Ward) then a teammate won it elsewhere after departing (Vernon and Niedermayer and Williams). Then there is the weirdness of Roy winning two in Montreal, then another with the Avs. Anyway, no, no team I see has had two guys on the roster who then left to win it elsewhere.
Psst...... Roy has 2 Cups with the Avalanche.... (But I know you knew that....) lol and yes.....LMOE on me!

Surprised that after I wrote professional Gardener you’d think that was a post written with factual intent, which btw I don’t think he was even a professional gardener you didn’t mention that. What ever his profession was he was better than the soccer coach.
The gloves make the man!!

Turned on WGR for my drive this morning. Heard Jeremy White say Carolina and Dallas cup final would hurt more Eichel and Reinhart.

Lies!

You’re in denial or simply lying if you say Jack Eichel in the finals won’t bring out every negative emotion. This would crush me, and I’m not afraid to say it. If this were years later I wouldn’t care. But for Eichel to win a cup now it would be absolutely crushing.

The difference between the two is just for personal preference. The reasoning is the same thing, it’s going to impact people that can’t let go of the past, depending on what they can’t give up.

I think it’s dumb that people can’t give up the grudge for either case, but not able to get over playoff losses 3 owners and 2+ decades ago really shows just how ridiculous sports fandom is. It’s unhealthy.

It’s not really the past with Eichel. Plus this is his first full season with Vegas.

People acting like it’s been years. I honestly think this is just a way of coping for some people.

The only thing that would annoy me if Eichel won the cup would be whatever shots he takes at the Sabres. And you know he would, because he's a child in that sense.

I'm actually fine with Dallas. 1999 was a long time ago, and there's been little interaction between Buffalo and them since other than interdivisional games. I also have a soft spot for Pavelski, and I think he deserves a cup more than just about anyone left playing.

1 - Partial disagree. I don't like Vegas's management style, team building style, or Stone's miraculous recovery to start the playoffs. That whole team makes me feel ick.

2 - That's where I'm at.

I still hate Jamie Macoun for breaking Lafontaine's jaw... my pettiness and ability to hold a grudge has no bounds

Listen here, sports without a little bit of hate just isn't as an enjoyable. As a bills fan, the NFL would have been nigh unwatchable for 20 years if I couldn't hate watch patriots games to root for a tom brady to finally show what a fraud he was.

So, f*** the Stars, it wasn't a goal.

f*** the hurricanes you lucky f***s.

If Dallas wins I'll have to deal with blackouts in the SCF.

If Vegas wins I'll have to watch Eichel-fuk-face in the SCF.

I'll take the blackouts, thanks.

There are few teams that don't have some warts in terms of rooting interest by this point. I'm curious to see how it plays out since so often teams try to mold parts of their lineup with the outcome of being similar to previous winners. I want to know what trend arises out of this year if any.

Atlanta region arena being built and will be open before the time the collegiate agreement with ASU expires. *shrug*
I think there could be a variety of potential options that would be intriguing.

Houston has been rumored to be interested and you would have a natural rivalry with the Stars. Portland would seem to be a natural potential fit to ramp up the PNW rivalries with Seattle & Vancouver. Salt Lake City could be a potential landing spot.

And if you go east, you have Quebec City with an NHL-ready arena...

I like 32 teams and would much rather see Arizona and maybe Florida move as opposed to having more expansion teams added.

I don't think the league wants to have another team in the east right now but the timing of that building is interesting.
