Tampa Bay loses to Boston in regulation and are now a Wild Card team. Would love to see those cheaters get bounced in the 1st Round by Carolina or Florida. Imagine if Tampa Bay lost to Florida and the Leafs lose to the Bruins in the 1st Round. HFboards would be quite entertaining if that happened. And they gave up two first rounders, Taylor Raddysh and Boris Katchouk for Brandon Hagel.

Thought Reilly Smith was someone we had wanted. He's injured now and also Vegas is DESPERATE for a goaltender with Brossoit going down. Starting two rookies while striving for PO's.
Seems NYR/VGK should be talking.......one would think. OR, has that ship already sailed?

Battle of Florida and Boston/Toronto in Round 1 with the current matchups? Sign me up. The first two weeks of May would be me planted in front of a TV for when those teams play. Just put them on the same nights and the Rangers the other nights. I don't really want to miss any of the Atlantic games if these end up the matchups.

Stars over the Canes. Big shootout win for Dallas in OT. Roope Hintz with 2 goals. (27, 28). Dallas in the last wildcard spot, has 4 games in hand on Vegas, and 2 games in hand on Preds.

Panthers over the Habs 4-3. Didn’t take long for Giroux and Hagg to get acclimated. They scored on their first shift 36 seconds into the game. Giroux ende up with 2 pts on the night. Ben Chariot also got an assist\. And blocked 3 shots. Florida leads the Eastern conference 1 pt up from the Canes. They also have a game in hand.

Flyers over the Blues 5-2. 2 Goals for Konectny. Blues remain 1pt ahead of the Preds, but drop to 3rd place in the Central

Wild beat the Canucks in OT. Kaprizov nets his 33rd. Deslauriers and Foligno both with 7 hits each in the game. Foligno also had a fighting major with Schenn. This team is very physical with the new additions. They leapfrog the Blues into 2nd place in the Central.

Hawks over the Kings in OT. Debrincat scores #36 and had a 2pt game. Kings are 1pt ahead of Oilers now for 2nd place in the Pacific.

B’s beat the Lightning in regulation. Pasta with the hatty! Big win for the Bruins as they leapfrog the Lightning into 3rd place in the Atlantic.

Isles continue to play themselves out of the Lotto odds. 2 goals for Brock Nelson (28, 29) They beat the wings 5-2. Isles are now 2pts behind the Jackets in the standings.

Sens beat the Jets 5-2. Tkachuk had 2 goals (21, 22). Stutzle had 2 helpers has 39pts on the season. Tough loss for the Jets who ar enow 5pts out of the wildcard with 17games to play. Still in it.

Oilers pick up a big 2 points over the Sharks. Draisaitl with 2 goals #44, #45 on the season. Leon is now 2 goals behind Matthews for the league lead. Oilers in 3rd in the Pacific, 2 pts behind the Kings and they have a game in hand on them as well.

Knights pounce on the Predators 6-1. Dadonov had a huge return with a goal and 2 assists. Nice way to rebound from the trade debacle. Knights are still on the outside of a wildcard but the trail Dallas by only 1 pt. Howden was injured and left the game.

Hagel actually looked damn good yesterday. He got a goal too.

Was a great move for them to make considering their situation

2 things.
I am not conceding 1st place. Carolina has 3 tough games coming up......St. Louis, Wash. T.B. They have 2 vs teams like the Islanders (getting back to normal) and Buffalo (feeling their oats)
Other thing is we play Buffalo next, and they had better learn the lesson NOT looking past them like they did NJ game, looking forward to another Pitt. game. IMHO

That Washington game better not be a three point game. Also, I think Carolina is better than all three teams. I also think they're the best team in the league. But yeah there's an outside chance we get first we have a very favorable schedule and we play them two more times at home.

For all the talk about the ice at the MSG, the main highlight for the 2 periods of TBL @ DET was ice repairs. Incl. using a fire extinguisher

Thanks for the confirmation. Literally EVERYONE in TV land is conceding the title to Carolina, I am NOT. What do they know, it's not like we are 10 pts. behind. Anyway, would it be asking too much for Pitt. to overcome Carolina as well? lol. Would love them to be knocked out, but we will cross that Verrazano/Brooklyn/Manhattan bridge when we get to it. lol.

havent looked at the standings in a while so just seeing now that out of the top 10 teams in the league 4 (3 in the top 5) are from the metro, another 4 from the atlantic and only 1 of each from pacific and central. east 1st round is gonna be entertaining as hell.
Yep
Bruins recent run been impressive, and disprutive
At this moment, all 3 of Tampa, Boston and Leafs (as well as NYR and Pens) are +22 vs .500,
which means those 3 in race, where 1 gets home ice against another, while the 3rd settles for a WC series, likely vs Canes in NYR/Metro bracket
(Assuming Fla remains ahead of Canes, and Caps don't catch the other 5)

I think that every series in the East could go either way.

I just saw a thread on the main boards on Wahlstrom and decided to check on his production. Woof, 22 points in 57 games. Remember when we were bemoaning that the Islanders drafted him over us? This "sniper" has 12 goals.

Boston is ascending in the Atlantic. Beginning to feel like they are the team. I don't trust Florida as of yet. Toronto is going to Toronto until they don't, and Tampa is struggling. Had a rough go today with Detroit. Won in OT, but it's Detroit.

If I had to pick today, I'm saying Boston gets the 2 seed and gets to the conference finals. I also believe the Rangers can get there too.

Lindholm was a really underrated pickup. People were down on him bc his underlying numbers have declined some, the Bruins gave up a ton for him, and they signed him to a long (as usual, below market value) contract, etc. He and McAvoy could easily prove to be the hardest defensive pair to score against in the league.

The big question for Boston will be the goalie, Swayman. Is he for real. I think they're so good that he doesn't need to be spectacular.

I definitely don't doubt Florida though. Tampa will never be easy to bet against. And something in me feels like Toronto is overdue, and Matthews looks as motivated as any player in the league.

East will be a fun bracket for sure though. Honestly this year's playoffs in general are shaping up to look fantastic. The only easy pick in round one is whoever Colorado is playing.

Every playoff team in the east is likely to have at least 100 points. I'm not sure if that has ever happened before.
