The one time self-indulgent nepotism would have worked for a hubris organization, we decide to take the highroad to hell.

I’d guarantee any amount of money Drury wouldn’t be in the same position if we had drafted him.

This organization doesn’t know how to develop forwards.

FWIW, Spittin Chiclets account is saying NHL players are out on the Olympics.

I think we're heading for a pause to the season in the next week that'll last into the new year. Not that I agree with pausing the season, but backing out of the Olympics is the correct thing to do anyway, pause or not.

Pausing the season for this seems HIGHLY ridic and I've been overly cautious all along.
It's alarming that new COVID cases are increasing at the rate that they have in the past week. This strain is making more vaccinated symptomatic, but it's still unclear whether this new strain is as virulent (deadly) as Delta. I think a lot of sports leagues are going to play it safe until there's more information.

It's a numbers game though. Hospitals will be stressed but not totally overwhelmed in areas with high rates of vaccination. This new strain is going to play out exactly like Delta did; lots of sickness and death among the unvaccinated and hospitals being overwhelmed in areas with low vaccination rates.

Get your boosters ASAP if you're last shot was over 6 months ago. The vaccine still protects against serious disease and death very well.

Getting my booster next week.

Thanks for the info.

My fiancee is vaxed but still got it just before thanksgiving. We quarantined... I took care of her (mild symptoms... flu basically and still has limited smell... taste came back) but I was fine throughout. Very odd disease.

Just got mine a few days ago. Not taking any chances. I have to say I'm really sick of this shit.

Yeah, I would like that too. The schedule has been so disjointed this year. Knowing the NHL they will reschedule the game when we are playing a lot of games.
So frustrating already, what is this already the 3rd game now that has to be made up?

Maybe we don't play another game until January and then NHL reschedules games during the 3 week olympic break.
Been hearing mixed reports that some buildings won’t be available since they already booked other events. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

This is a good point. I wonder if the NHL/venues asked for a deadline for when/if they could book other events, but one would think that such events would be booked out FAR ahead of time. Earlier than right now, for sure.

There are MUCH better treatments, specifically early days when people just find out they have it that this shouldn’t be as large of a concern as many are discussing. Hospitals shouldn’t be as overwhelmed if doctors are prescribing aggressive combinations of meds.

Not sure the booster is going to be the answer to any of this but people should do what they believe is right for themselves.

From what I’ve read, Omicron is not as virulent as Delta. Like not even close. So in that case, and I hate to say this for fear of people being upset, but if there was a strain to get, it’s this one and not Delta.

Be proactive where you can.
