Kakko is better along the boards, Hughes is better in open ice. Pretty obvious which player is gonna get more scoring opportunities. Kakko's still figuring it out, both players have alot of room to grow.

As for Defense, Kakko had some of the best analytics in the entire league for Forwards. That's just a fact.

Jack Hughes is going to be a Dynamic Scorer for a pretty long time. The devils already had Hischier whose pretty good at center and struck gold with Mercer.
Their center depth for the foreseeable future is pretty damn good.
I give it 2 years and a solid wing and D-man trade/UFA signing until they are a problem.
I’d wager in that time they move past the Isles and Pitt in our division....
They also may need a 1B to platoon with Blackwood. He’s been a bit shakey this season, especially high on the Glove side

They arent winning anything with Blackwood in goal. They are going to add some beef on the wings once PK is off the books, and i agree that they will be more of a threat to the Rangers going forward than the aging Isles/Pens/Caps

Yep. Hamilton/graves were solid adds. I’m not a big Smith fan. We’ll see how Luke Hughes progresses.
But that center/fwd core is stacked.
Hughes, Hischier/Mercer/Bratt/Wood/Holtz...
There’s a lot of good there to build on
