I saw one preview today that had Winnipeg winning the Cup.

Also, looking at Carolina's roster and so many familiar faces--Stepan, Skjei, DeAngelo, Fast, Smith and Raanta.

Holy hell. same deal as Zibby basically, but that's almost all RFA years?

Have to love the mainboards.

Yesterday: 8M a year, but Zib performance was an "outlier" for the last three seasons, thats too much, he hasn't proved this is who he really is yet
Today: 8M for this kid whos played just over 100 games is a great deal!

8. One contract that changed things in the NHL’s executive world: Chris Drury’s. When the Rangers hired him as President & GM, he signed a contract believed to be in the mid-$4M range. I don’t have any problem with that; you’re worth what you negotiate and what someone is willing to pay you. It leap-frogged him above many of his peers, including Montreal’s Marc Bergevin, who just went to the Stanley Cup Final. I’m not saying Bergevin is asking for $4.5M, but I do think it raised the bar. I’ve heard one argument that Drury carries the title of President, while many of his peers don’t, but, whatever the case, it’s a factor in the lack of an extension in Montreal.

As opposed to waiting to give it to them when they are 30 or older and it not killing their drive?
How I would act/spend $60M at 21 is way different than 30.

It was tongue in cheek... but what's the point of RFA status anymore.

I think the Islanders are a bit overrated imo, they benefitted from the bubble and the shorten divisional format last season. I want to see how they do in a full 82 game season 1st before I crown them. I think they should win the division however

Makes me sick watching those cap circumventers hoisting that banner up. Yes, they are a great team but I don’t wanna hear the “but they didn’t break any rules” BS excuses. They cheated, they know it, and they know they couldn’t pull that crap again this year because the league would’ve seen it as being fishy. They need to amend that stupid rule ASAP, if you are on LTIR all season then you are not eligible for the playoffs. And have teams be cap compliant in the playoffs. $98 Million Dollar Cup Champs with a huge asterisk. BTW, F their smug fans and smug coach!
