No that's a fake out. Building the LTIR case for next season.

I heard Victor Hedman is going on LTIR next season, but as the NHL will be closing the loophole, an undrafted European defenseman name Vick Herman will be playing on a league minimum ELC for the Lightning.

Man people gotta stop bitching and moaning about LTIR. I don’t remember the outrage when Chicago did it with Kane. It’s just tiring already.

Go habs.

Dont care about ltir especially after what we pulled with Redden, but love a good underdog story.

Yeah their online fans are annoying but I know plenty IRL who are cool

Wasn’t the same thing. Kane was injured mid season and was unexpected. Kucherov and his “scheduled” surgery allowed TB to have the cap space to re-sign Cirelli, Sergachev, and Cernak. There is no doubt that Kucherov was injured, but they did this knowing they could have Kucherov for Game 1 of the playoffs even though he was most likely able to play well before the playoffs started. If there wasn’t this loophole then TB would’ve had to trade some good players they did not want to trade because no one wanted Johnson, Palat or Killorn. So stop comparing the Kane thing with Kucherov, they are not the same thing. The loophole is the same but the circumstances and timing are different.

I just realized that if Montreal wins this, Carey Price will just be awarded the Conn Smythe by default because Montreal has a bunch of good players but no great players.

Would be nice to get a Gallagher or Marchand type who is a pain in the butt but still scores a lot.

A better Brendan Lemieux

You can also go 10% over the upper limit in the summer. The rules are the rules, and they didn’t break anything. That’s just something they were smart to take advantage of.

Svechnikov...er... Sergachev... got away with pretty decent interference there.
