This we lost to team A and they lost to team B so we suck is a garbage take. Any team can to lose another team in any game. Now the Islanders beat the Bruins once the season before that, but outside of those 2 games they're undefeated in regulation. Maybe that's a better barometer than 1 or 2 games?

The nerve of this guy- gets to line up with Panarin, Laf, Kakko, Buchnevich, but is still hoping for a special something. YOU find it.

The nerve of the guy? What do the people that liked this and yourself want? He's still been their best C. Where has Zibanejad been? Has Howden progressed? Look at the stats for this club and tell who has shown the f*** up so far. Unreal. "The nerve of this guy." How about the nerve of a guy like Kreider who people drool over because he's been here for eight years already. Where was he in that Bruins game? Playing his usual pansy game while gliding around unwilling to engage in any physical contact whatsoever. Took a guy like Pavel frieken Buchnevich to fight someone. The nerve. Unreal.

Bennett with a goal. The only Bennett we have the value for now is Beau Bennett. Galchenyuck come on down.
Very true even if Calgary played one of the worst games I’ve seen of any team this year. They were neutered by probably the worst defensive team in hockey

Team + staff.

The thing is: If you suspend 4 Russians for playing cards in a hotel room, you have to act on this as well. Unless you're gullible enough to think that nobody in that group took off their masks to eat or drink while watching the Super Bowl

so I think the difference is that the capitals were on the road...its dumb and should change, but I think the league setup restrictions for teams on the road to stay in their hotel rooms, etc. but didn't setup rules for them when they were home. at home you are expected to be responsible and clearly they weren't but I don't think the league setup any rules that they could enforce.

from all the issues around the league, they probably need it but maybe the players objected?

Ovechkin, Orlov, Samsonov and Kuznetsov were in 1 hotel room. Playing cards. With the same people they share a bench with during games, people they sit next to in the locker room.

It's ridiculous

but the rule is that you need to stay in your own hotel room not hanging out together...I never said it wasn't stupid or inconsistent but they got suspended because they broke a covid rule. stamkos didn't. I agree that its ridiculous

They had like a 8-1-2 record coming into the series with us relax. And they were playing on the second night of a back to back. Also, we had like 35 shots in the first game we played against them.
Let's not allow this to get in the way of a good wank over what the Islanders are doing.

Team doesn't have one legitimate leader. Their leaders couldn't hold a candle to some of the ones around the league. Not one of those guys should be wearing an "A."
Mostly agree. Maybe Lindgren!

the fact that Mika and even more so Kreider are looked at as leaders is not only pathetic, it’s actually detrimental to the growth of our young kids. They see these guys put up minimal to no effort at times and almost no offensive numbers and they must be like WTF?

but culture and class yo! If you listen to Sam and Joe rave about Kreider it’s actually weirdly incestuous.

The rock paper scissors episode last night just shows how F'n silly the game has become . The NHL should fix this crap . The visiting team should go off first and the home team second....unless the home team does not care . This foolishness last night will undoubtedly happen again . What a way to start a hockey game on home ice ...Rock Paper Scissors....a new embarrassment by the New York Rangers organization . Can anyone see Messier or Beukeboom playing the childlike game ?
I honest to god can’t tell if this is serious or not. If it is... yikes.

Galchenyuk on waivers, Rangers are 6th from the bottom in the standings so Ottawa, Detroit, Buffalo, New Jersey and San Jose are ahead of us to claim him. Should the Rangers put in a claim for him considering he is a UFA at the end of the year and has a $1.05M cap hit? Surprised Carolina couldn’t get anything for him before putting him on waivers.

Couldn't be worse than Strome.
