I never got this joke about Canadians because to me it always sounded like they were saying “a boat” , not “a boot”
Where does it say Jan 1?Finally some news, and Jan 1st is earlier than I thought they would start, sweet.
Just spitballing here, but the most likely idea sounds like early-mid December TC starts, Jan 1st season begins with 2 Weeks in a hub city, followed by 1 week off to fly home, rinse and repeat, with testing throughout the process of course. So 8 games in 14 days per Hub? Maybe 7 sets of these 3 week blocks =5 months approximately to play 56 games. Playoffs would start some time towards the beginning of June, or earlier if they play 50 games instead of 56.
The amount of Hub cities and teams per Hub factors in as well.
Nothing official but I read elsewhere that they’re still aiming for around that date I believeWhere does it say Jan 1?

that would be ideal. 42 or 48 games or whatever would be such a bummer.I think the league would love to be able to salvage a 72 game season out of all of this mess.

68 games would be nice, same as this past season.
That would seem ambitious if they don't want to go into summer.I think the league would love to be able to salvage a 72 game season out of all of this mess.

I know some fans wanted Colin Wilson as a depth cheap option

True....but with Covid #'s increasing daily we likely will be lucky to see a 40 + game schedule for a regular season if we actually see a season at all . I honestly don't think a season will happen....looking like the 2nd wave of Covid is a lot worse than the first going by the amount of new cases ...unless you are in China where there are hardly any outbreaks LOL....I think the league would love to be able to salvage a 72 game season out of all of this mess.
It wasn’t real until Lundqvist revealed his Capitals mask.
