and what are they giving up in return? It would have to start with Cozens and continue to add and add.
I'm not the biggest Laine fans but seeing some trade proposals from some fans on HF (especially Habs fans) make me really laugh. Like Domi or Danault, Mete plus 16oA for Laine lol

I think Reinhardt would be of interest.

plus they have that 8OA

How about Cozens, Reinhart and something else?
Too much.

That Montreal proposal of Danault/Domi, Mete, and 16th overall is actually not that bad.

I've been beating this drum for a while and I will keep beating it. Laine is a slug if he's not being spoon-fed on the power play. He may put up 30 or 40 a year, but he's abhorent in other aspects of the game outside of his shot. Whoever pays him more than 8 million a year on a long term deal will regret it.

I've watched a lot of Mete and doubt he is anything more than a 6/7 dman. Started off opening up some eyes at 19 his first year but has regressed IMO. So lets say Danault and 16th for Laine. I don't think that is a fair deal but we can agree to disagree.
I can see Buffalo giving up Cozens and Reinhart as being too much but the allure of having Laine/Eichel could be something that would make Buffalo overpay a bit. What else do they have that would interest Winnipeg besides guys they won't trade like Eichel/Dahlin/Olofsson?

i hope so. They’re close and their game too closely resembles the Stars.

I'm not worried at all. Even if they somehow miraculously beat Tampa(they wont) they would then come off of 2 straight 7 game series playing a rested, big, and talented Dallas team. For them to win the cup they would have had to win 5 series including the play in against Florida. That takes it's toll and they just aren't good enough to overcome that. It's just not happening.

Winnipeg would have made of like bandits if they can get Reinhart and Cozens for Laine. I'd imagine neither would be available, but never know.

I'd imagine Jeff Skinner would be part of the deal to offset salary for Buffalo's internal cap. Cozens could be in play along with Buffalo's 202o or 2021 1st's, but not much else beyond that.

I've never seen a team so big on d and so small up front lol.
Jokes aside I knew Edmundson was gonna get a nice pay day. Probably a bit of an overpayment but he wasn't gonna cost 1.5-2 million per.

Usually when a team makes a deal pre-UFA for a player it signals they're going to go all out to sign him. So I figured that was going to happen--whether they move on from Kulak I don't know. He's pretty much strictly a stay at home D so I'm not sure what they'd get for him.

I do think the NHL will start in a bubble. I have doubts about the AHL period. If it does start in the bubble I think teams will have to have an excess of 23 players so there would have to be some waiving of the cap ceiling. One of the issues will be players getting hurt and needing replacement and if the replacement has to take two weeks of quarantine to enter the bubble it's going to be a mess. So teams will have extras and in that case will be carrying 8,9, 10 defensemen I would suspect.

I don’t get it that makes little sense

Just saw it was speculated on other boards. Could make sense though. Staal on his last contract year. Is almost 36 years old. No one knows when the league is starting again. Maybe Wild were afraid he would retire in the break? By trading him they at least got a player back. And for Sabres it will be OK if he plays. If not they have at least saved a lot of money.

i don't want a tight or exciting game...I want the lightning to totally run the fishdicks out of the building early in a blowout game. can't stand most of their fans

No Point, and Kucherov is carrying an injury. Tampa will be lucky to score more than 1 goal. Their depth players have been useless offensively.
