Probably no one will care but me. But I just got some strong nostalgia. Pierre just said "when they get a chance to clear the Blues get the puck out of the zone". I remember pre-lockout, I think like the 00-01 season JD make a similar observation also about the Blues at the time "they don't play around on the penalty kill, they get it out of their zone when they get the chance". I remember thinking about what a banal observation that was.

It certainly seems like the two top teams have gotten their shit together. St Louis back to tied and Boston up 3-1 in their series after looking awful in the round robin and early games in the series.

I was watching the Yankees and Cubs, more so than the Tripp Tracy whine fest. He and the new idiot never shut up about a dirty hit on Staal. He was also blaming the defenseman for Reimer playing the puck into Boston's first goal. He has become insufferable since the Canes fired Forslund. That whole team has become arrogant and insufferable. Boston winning Game 5 by 5 goals wouldn't be enough!

As much as I hate Boston I’m glad that we are getting a better pick it looks like. Plus Carolina I felt was getting a little arrogant. They’re whole “You‘Re Welcome” post on Twitter after we won the lottery kind of rubbed me the wrong way. So now we won the lottery AND will probably get pick 20-22 in a deep draft!!!

I agree. I felt the same way. Way too arrogant for a borderline playoff team who is going to get bounced. We should respond when boston closes them out.

It’s cute people think were actually keeping that pick.

I don't think it's a given it's gone either.

The Rangers have some salaries to figure out, and taking on another salary (which is what you'd be doing if you moved a first round pick) might not necessarily be something that entirely comes into focus between now and the draft.

So while the interest might be there to move the pick for more immediate help, the logistics could prove tricky.

Dale Hawerchuk passed away...57 years old :(

Incredibly underrated player.

There's the Winnipeg factor, and him retiring younger. But in terms of pure talent and ability, I honestly think he's right up there with an Yzerman --- probably even finishes with higher career totals if his career isn't cut short.

But him on a big market team in the 80s and 90s, and the guy is a household name.

It certainly seems like the two top teams have gotten their shit together. St Louis back to tied and Boston up 3-1 in their series after looking awful in the round robin and early games in the series.

St. Louis also finally started to get some goaltending. Binnington was awful for them in each game. Allen has been strong, but their game went to another level last night and the Canucks look like a young finesse team.

Boston just turned it up two notches in that 3rd period. Feel like they went into it that if they put together an amazing 3rd they could come back and kill the series. No Svechnikov, blowing a 2 goal lead in a matter of 5 minutes. That series is as good as done IMO. Boston, Isles, Tampa are just about done with their series. I would not count out Montreal at this point. The Flyers do not look good, and they are not scoring. Montreal craves these games, since they do not have the firepower to run with teams. Price has turned the clock back 5 years and looks great.

If it ends up Flyers-Isles and Lightning-Bruins, I honestly think we're looking at a Lightning-Islanders ECF. Not sure Halak can handle Tampa and I would not bet on AV against the Islanders. Yeah, Washington looks like trash, but the Islanders and their system are going to do work on the Flyers. Their balance actually helps mitigate the effect Couturier has on the series defensively. He'd get Barzal, but the other lines have been productive too. Not a fan of Philly's 3rd and 4th lines over the Islanders.

Drouin and Domi playing like two nothings. Wake up and make a play
