Every time I watch Panarin play for us, I do a quick prayer and look up to the hockey gods and thank them that he signed with us rather than take more money and play for the Islanders cause had he gone there, I have no doubt in my mind, they would be severe Cup contenders this year and going forward rather than likely one and done.

We all know that will never happen....us trading with the Islanders especially a key guy like Kreider it just won't happen.

But for shits and giggles let's just say Gorton actually would consider dealing with the Isles, who do they have that we would truly be interested in? Bellows? Dobson? Wahlstrom?

I mean I couldn't imagine the Isles even considering dealing any of them for Kreider and we'd still want more than just one of those guys. And maybe I'm in the minority but I'm not exactly a big fan of Wahlstrom. I think he's overrated and he doesn' seem to have the motor and intensity that we'd even want.

Bottom line, I doubt in my lifetime, we'll ever see a bigtime trade with the Islanders.

It's just against the rules...we hate each other, we shouldn't help each other out and that's that...lol

Besides the fact we are likely scaring the shit out of Islander fans that we are only 6 points behind them while we are still in a full scale rebuild, wouldn't it be quite satisfying that if we didn't make the playoffs which is likely what's going to happen, if the Islanders also didn't get into the dance.

We'll see how it plays out but the Islanders have gone from a sure thing to get into the playoffs just 2 weeks ago to where it's getting pretty hairy for them as they are far far from a lock to get in as they are now going to have to fight for their lives to get in as they are battling with 5 other teams to get in.
