Good riddance to that guy. I wonder how many calls they got from advertisers threatening to pull ads if they didn't fire Cherry.
Thank god. He was an embarrassment to the sport. While he was occasionally amusing, I was amazed he was given a platform to be a dickhead for as long as he was.

I think the demographic in Canada changed enough over the past 20 years, that they now can safely dismantle the Cherry, as to not piss off too many fanboys and potentially cause a national riot in Canada.

Eh, his employer, a large swath of the public, and quite likely a bunch of sponsors felt differently.

Makes sense. Cherry has been a diminishing asset for Sportsnet for a while and now that they’ve squeezed every last drop of value they could from him they’re going find another guy that comes on and says controversial stuff to get a ride from people to get ratings
