Happy I was wrong about the Debs winning tonight and Hughes scoring his first NHL goal.

They did play better tonight tho that's not saying alot considering how pathetic they were the last two and a half games.

Might be a long year in Jersey tho it's still so early in the year to make such proclamations. Still tho, it's nice to see that team struggle out of the gate. And their fanbase is currently going nuts!

So all is good in the world...lol

Maybe it's cause I'm 50 + years old and have likely seen live or on TV thousands of games in all of the 4 major sports where when a team is taken for dead as the Debbie are and they are playing at their own barn vs a team that is not used to winning as is the Oilers, the team that's been left for dead rises like the Phoenix and sleighs the new kid on the block.

I'm playing around but in all seriousness, I have seen it tons of times where a team playing as badly as the Devils have so far in 2 1/3 of their 3 games have a come to jesus with each other and play inspired hockey in front of their home fans. And it's not like the Oilers have done jack ****. Yes they've won the first 3 games of the year. They need to do a lot more winning for me and beating some good teams before I start to think they are for real.

So yes, I'd be shocked if the Debs lose tonight. Matter of fact, I think they win comfortably too...as in 5-2 type of comfy. And I do believe we will see their savior score his first NHL goal as well.

We'll see...hope I'm wrong and Devils lose again but I doubt it highly....Devils will be coming out storming tonight...guaranteed.

Either way no matter what happens, I'll be here to take the verbal abuse for being wrong and I'll be here to gloat and say I told ya so if I'm right....lol.
I too have seen it many times, as I am even older than you. But it is hard for me to imagine with the way EDM is playing lately.

But as it turns out, you were right,... the Debs gave it their best effort and forced it to a shootout. And they came close to winning it in regulation. But this is EDM's 3rd time in 4 games they came from behind in the 3rd period, so not quite a surprise to me that they won this in dramatic fashion again.

Saturday, we can't let up on this team. We need to play a full 60 minutes if we are to beat them.

Actually the Debs have an argument that they should have won. That penalty at end of game was huge and they paid for it. Agree with you that beating the Oilers will take our A game.

Going to be very interesting how the team responds after a week off....we'll see soon enough my friend.

I don't particularly think EDM played their A game tonight. They looked much better against the NYI.

Saturday, I could see us up by 3 heading into the 3rd and praying to hang on late. LOL

Minnesota continues to burn in hell as it's meant to be. That 5th year they offered to Zuccarello has aged like sink carrots. Zucc has never handled negativity well. Once it hits, it's a long way down for his play for a long stretch. Must be tough to see the GM that signed you get fired days after welcoming you on a move of no confidence.

There was literally an article posted yesterday on ESPN by Greg Wyshynski talking about the Rangers vs Devils and how they're doing in the rebuild. In said Kakko is clearly off to a better start than Hughes (and actually said Hughes has been hurting the Devils), said the Panarin was obviously a bigger add than Gusev, but then said the Subban is a bigger add than Trouba. I was like, ehhh, you sure about that, Greg?

Sigh. “Both sides” journalism. I thought that was only a thing in political reporting...

Absolutely moronic, pointless challenge from Tocchet. What a f***ing dumbass. How do you challenge THAT when they added DOG penalties for wrong challenges? There wasn’t even an argument for goalie interference. I’m just flabbergasted at how an NHL coach could make such an obviously poor choice.

Laine looks really good. I think he played really well their first 4 games and now the points/goals are coming. Pionk over/under 48 points. I probably take the over.
Man Zucc is gonna have a long long year with that team in Minnesota.

There was already an article with Zucc talking about how he’s been steaming hot garbage. 2 games in

Wild look like the leading contenders for Lafreniere. That franchise is a disaster.

Bruins Avalanche is everything that was advertized.

I think we are looking at two of the final four teams that will be in their respective conference finals if I had to wager at this point in time. They both are fast, have snipers, are gritty and have very good goaltending
