I didn't watch the entire series but Binnington was the MVP of game 7.
ROR was outstanding, but someone tell me HOW Binnington doesnt win it? The Blues arent even sniffing the PO's without him. I know, I know that isnt considered. In the PO's he was.......steady to say the least, not letting in too many softies. IF any. Stood on his head many a game. You aren't 10-3 in the PO's on the ROAD, without outstanding goaltending. It just doesnt happen.
My vote was for Binnington, sorry ROR.

Binnington was massive, but it was Piet or ROR all the way. Sure he saved their asses, but the numbers those other guys put up were more important.

The Blues Are In Trouble Unless Their Goalie Steps Up In Game 7

Regular season doesn't matter; Binnington wasn't impressive in the playoffs. Passable, yes, but he was not the Blues MVP.

Call me polyannaish but I can't believe we aren't ahead of the Oilers 40-1 or at worst right there with them...that's BS. I'd bet a decent chunk of my mortgage we'll be better than the Oilers this upcoming season and what Vegas thinks.

Vegas was probably figuring in that last season the Rangers had the least Regulation wins in the entire league.

That's why I'm against tanking.

Binnington was MVP of game 7 for sure, but he was average in the playoffs. ROR wasn’t dominant or anything but no single player really stood out in these playoffs and he head the most points for the winning side.

Anyone else think it’s kinda weird how some of the Blues alumni are acting like they were the ones who actually won the cup? Not talking about Brett Hull, but like, Kelly Chase.

Will be interesting to see how Eakins does this time around.

It's kinda funny, last time Eakins was kind of billed as fancy stats guy (right or wrong), and Anaheim is regarded as the team least interested in analytics.

Whatever he is as coach, after hearing the way Paul Ranger talked about him, I definitely admire him as a man.

Considering how poorly received his Edmonton tenure was I think it automatically gives him a very real, non zero chance to find success literally anywhere else lmfao. I'm very fascinated to see how this plays out.

Every year for quite a few years the main board would have at least one, "Whatever happened to Paul Ranger thread" to the point where it became a meme.

Hags totally fixed their PK when he came over. No surprise. Wish we still had him but the $4M AAV he was asking for and got in Anaheim was too much. As a top tier 4th liner (seems so silly typing that phrase) even $2.75M AAV is a bit high but I guess that's the price for what he provides. I could see the Rangers using a player like Hagelin on their 4th but in the $2M-2.5M range. I doubt Tanev signs at such a low number but he's one player I think would help us in that role. A shame we don't have anyone in Hartford who has the top PK, grinding, forecheck, speed, energy, toughness package. Hagelin's portfolio is more PK, forecheck, speed.

I think it’s a good move in the sense that the Ducks are in this re-tooling phase. Maybe a step ahead of the Rangers or not. Eakins had success with the Gulls coaching players like Terry, Steel, and Jones. These guys will be on Anaheim’s roster next year and having a familiar coach where they had success with should work out well. Some fans are meh with it and some are happy. Think one year to see how it goes cannot really hurt. After the debatacle of Carlyle, this has to be better.

Thank GOD. I would have been livid if we ended up trying to sign an injury prone mess for 10+ million and 8 years.

Now just stay clear of selling the farm for Trouba and i'll be a happy camper.

This contract is a disaster waiting to happen. Maybe he’ll go to Tampa. With Jon Pooper at the helm, and then adding EK, maybe they get swept in the 2nd round instead.
