He seems like a fun guy but as an analyst he sounds like he doesn’t know the sport at all lol
I can't stand listening to Boudreau. I'm sure he has lots of hockey knowledge but most of it expired 10+ years ago. Also, when he talks about the Rangers it sounds forced, as if he despises the team but knows it's his job and has to do it regardless.

Isn't the best when Ville Nieminen said that "having some nice clothes, getting the metro to the game etc" It's the best place to play.

And then Kimmo Timonen said "yeah but what about when there are elephants next to the stands"? "What the f*** is going on, there is shit and sand on the ice? Yep but it's because there was a circus just before the game" :D MSG is the sickest place any player can play in, and it's not even close. And that's what every finnish player will tell you as well.

"The hill when you walk up to MSG is like nothing else, there is no other arena like that" as Kimmo TImonen stanley cup winner and hall of famer said.

Or what Kimmo said about Paul Kariya "wanna join me in the taxi? And Kimmo said "taxi? i can see the arena, why would we do a taxi?" and Kariya said "well check out what i do, and tipped 200$ for like a 200 meter ride, dude just didn't want to walk anywhere, said hes legs might get tired.

Easily the most noticeable player out there for Vancouver. He's also getting PP1 time 🤐
love watching fil play. so fast, so skilled.

it's an actual travesty that he never got a real shot here. before the injuries. relegated to JV. Kid line. i was begging to put him with panarin, to put him RW1 after buch trade.

never got a look. f*** this team.

I'll cut the team a little slack, which I normally don't do, because it did look like he was finally going to be given a long look in the top 6 last year (ala Laf) before injury. Really, really sucks that the concussion completely altered the trajectory of his rangers career.

how many years had he been here before last year? how many coaches? i feel like he was the 2nd longest tenured ranger after kreids

I don't know why some folks are mad at Kakko like he wasn't trying in NYR, got traded, flipped a switch, and started trying but whatever narrative you want to tell yourself.

January was the most productive month of Kakko's career with 3-9-12 in and average of 17:38 TOI, also a career high for TOI in any month. Kakko did not average more than 14 min with the Rangers this season. 17:38 is also a career high for avg. TOI in a month. If you're sour about this, be sour at Lavi. I will continue to root for Krakko

kakko, chytil, k'andre when he gets traded, laf when he gets traded, etc.

Because the alternative is that there's something inherently wrong with the way the team we root for is run. So it's more comforting to just tell yourself the player wasn't trying or something.

Not only was he on PP1, he was QB'ing it from the right side boards. Hronek and the rest of Nucks core kept giving him the puck. It was amazing to see, as well as sad. Rangers never gave that much PP1 time in all the time he was here, let alone let him run it.

tbf he was with Panarin before his concussion last season. Then Trocheck, Laf, Bread line got solidified while Fil was out.

I don't know if I'd say he didn't try but while he didn't get the opportunity he should have, any time he got an opportunity outside of this year's Chytil line and the kid line in the 2022 playoffs he didn't do shit with it. He constantly looked like he was afraid of playing offense. All he ever did was skate around the perimeter controlling the puck leading to nothing. His shots were muffins. A missed empty net against Carolina in the 2022 playoffs that cost them game 1 was probably the biggest impact he ever had on a game.

yup. i remember it well, he looked amazing.

it made me say the same thing i'm saying now - how did they never decide to give him a shot higher in the lineup, rather than just relegate him to a 3rd line that got glued to the bench any time the game f***ing mattered? saddle him with rookie kakko. saddle him with brett howden. had enough yet, kid? heh. try some goodrow with a side of nemeth. no, i insist.

I will never be mad at my precious awkward Finnish son.

It’s so clear the Rongos are ass backward

I hate it but I'm starting to feel Barkley-esque every time Kakko gets a point.
saquon? what do you mean

edit: i think i know what you mean. Bitter. you mean you feel bitter.

bitter that your team shuns its own young homegrown talent and trades it down at a loss for old has-beens who can finally loosen the old belt buckle and not have to skate so damn hard.

it's nothing against JT - i appreciate his game and his effort out there. I just hate hearing the vancouver intermission literally frothing at the mouth about what chytil can become now that he finally has an opportunity behind zib and troch.

like lavi could never have put zib on the wing with Chytil centering. Like giving this kid a shot was never even an option. of course it wasn't. it's the Rangers. Miller understood. you go somewhere else to earn the opportunity to play on broadway.

To me, the biggest issue was that once the team finally decided to make a real effort to give him top 6 minutes, it always had to be with Mika. And that was just the reality of the way the roster was constructed. I can't really think of two guys who stylistically shouldn't play with each other more than Mika and Kakko.
