I get the feeling the Hawks get eliminated in the first round.

Its always possible but this team looks very much like 09/10 Hawks

Stars playing best since that year , Role players stepping up and youth (Leddy/Saad/Shaw) continue to impress

If Crawford/Emery can play solid this team can do some damage

In Montreal right now. 24/7 hockey everywhere in Canada. NHL, CHL, you name it. Saw a few Rangers fans roaming the streets as well.

Marty Biron was also on TV. Don't know what it was, but looked like a talk show. Marty looked to be having a good time.

Yeah I disagree.

They have yet to play an Eastern Conference team, but theyre undoubtedly the class of the West and id be absolutely shocked if they dont represent the West in the Finals.

Its not like this is Colorado here putting up a streak. Chicago has always been a top team and theyre just getting themselves back into where they were previously in 09-10 after some ****ery.

Sharks looked like a carbon copy of the Rangers ib the third period.

Chicago looked like a well oiled machine. I just knew the Hawks were getting that SH goal at the start of the period, and it was nice.

Canucks were the class of the West last season too and look what happened.

Lots of hockey to be played.

Yeah the depth on the Hawks is amazing.
Toews, Kane, Sharp, Hossa. One of those is on your second line. Then add Saad and Bolland having spectacular years, and guys like Shaw playing like they have, and you can see why they're a force to be reckoned with.

Actually 2 of each of those guys is on each of our top lines

Saad-Toews-Hossa
Sharp-Bolland-Kane
Bickell-Shaw-Stalberg
Carcillo-Kruger-Frolik
(Bollig/Mayers)

I wonder what the Rangers would look like with Joel Q as HC. I know it won't be the Hawks, but they'd have to look more exciting than they do now.

At least you have a good #2 C in Stepan

Wish Hawks had him as Bolland isn't really working out as #2 C ,, The one area the Hawks have desperate need longterm is a true #2 C (Since Sharp no longer plays C)
You can have our #2 c plus Bickel (a hardworking, hustling fella) for your #1 c, deal?

Seriously though, how the hell is the hawks this deep? It is just ridiculous.

they look ridiculously good out there.......I watched for 5 minutes and they dominated, I mean it was not even funny how crisp their passes were and they were putting on tons of pressure like it was easy for them

When the league allows cap circumventing contracts like Hossa's it gives them an unfair advantage.

The Rangers line up looks sexy on paper too. Too bad the game is played on the ice.

Yup!
I think our top 2 lines look very good too, if they play and produce like they should. However, the major differences when comparing to a team like Chicago, in my opinion, is that they're top 6 is much younger, faster and just more dynamic (with the exception of Nash, of course).
What's not even remotely close is they're bottom 6 vs ours...day and night, in practically all aspects. If our top guns don't score, we will rarely win a game, especially against top teams.
Thank God for our D and Hank!

Enjoy your stay in La Belle Province!
I live here, and let me tell you, hockey truly is 24/7, 365 here!

The players, coaches, media and fans did not approve of Torts' comments after Tueday's game (bad teams, boring, etc...), so even though they won the game, they'll want to prove that they're a good, exciting team...could spell trouble for us, or could provide us with an opportunity, if they're not playing their game...
BTW, Prust did not practice yesterday (a little banged up), but is expected to play, and looks like Gallagher will be in tonight as well. No injuries for them at all...
