Of course the only ones to defend Cooke is...gasp! Pens fans. I'm not sure who said it, but some poster from here said all the Pens do is vehemently attack any one who claims any of their players do anything wrong, and then mock said claim by exaggerating it and circle jerking each other, but he was spot on. Infuriating.

Pens fans aren't the only ones to be defending Cooke at all.

Didn't look intentional, but it's so sad that Cooke is still on the ice. Makes me sick to my stomach. How many more players is he going to injure before enough is enough? Vinny, Lombardi,Cole, Savard, Sundin, Sakic, McDonagh (attempt), Karlsson.

These are just from top of my head. There was a whole coach's corner special on Cooke's dirty career antics.

What kind of ******** is that? Kid gets his first NHL win and to congratulate him, they stick him next to Pierre McGuire? Malarkey.

If anyone else in the NHL did the same thing to EK, I don't think we are even having a discussion if it was intentional or not.

Freak play like Levitate said.

Wow, never realized there were so many incidents. I dont even think Marchand will ever have that many cases of injuring a player in his career. Cooke, is a *******. Marchand is Boston's version of Avery ( with more talent) who will get under team's skin and be a pest. Cooke is a pure instigator who tries to injure people. If I was Shanahan, I woiuld suspend him just based on that lofty resume you listed. Now I change my mind and think he did it on purpose after seeing all those names on his victim list.

don't forget the attempted beheading of anisimov...he should've been out of the league years ago but the league is more concerned about hooking infractions

Nobody knows if that was intentional except for Matt Cooke. No sane person would do something like that though (see: Simon, Chris).

I want to believe that it wasn't intentional, but I hate Cooke and the Pens so much I'm blinded. Best to just stay out of this one.

Speedy recovery, kid. Hope you can get back out there and play your game again.

it is beyond ridiculous... the refs all take 20 min to drop the puck, kicking the center out of the faceoff circle seemingly 20x a game...but stunts like this....its fine. Cooke needs to get his face bashed in.

Injured by Matt Cooke

Daymond Langkow, November 2007 -- concussion (hit from behind into boards)

James Wisniewski, November 2007 -- concussion, face stitches (hit from behind into boards)

Petteri Nummelin, November 2007 -- concussion, broken nose (hit from behind into boards)

Scott Walker, January 2009 -- concussion

Zach Bogosian, March 2009 -- knee

Eric Cole, May 2009 -- knee

Shean Donovan, November 2009 -- torn ACL

Artem Anisimov, November 2009 -- "bell rung"

This is all before Marc Savard, March 2010

Plus Vinny Lecavalier who had a shoulder injury.

Lecavalier, Savard, Now Karlsson, when will it end

Cooke has worked very hard over the last year to clean up his act. While I'm certainly not a fan, an objective look here says accident. I have been watching hockey for over 50 years and I have never seen a player use their skate blade as a weapon. Not once, ever.

No excuse for lifting the leg and clearly kicking it there...

I can see a 5 game suspension coming since he injured a star...

It was an attempted slew foot that had end results.

Mark it down, ladies and gentlemen.

April 22, 2013 (Monday, 7:30 P.M.)

Pittsburgh at Ottawa.

With Karrlson done for the season and Spezza's return this season being up in the air as well, I think Neil gets the thumbs up to run amok against the Pens.

I would bet there is going to be some serious headhunting before that.

That's their next and final meeting, unless you mean other teams are going to gun the Pens.

Honestly? It's high time the Rangers finally smack around both Crosby and Malkin. Enough of taking this high road crap; we only get burned by doing it.

EK is done most likely never to skate like the wind with that injury . Sad he was a future generational talent

I absolutely despise Cooke and I know Neil is a known bright spark, but that's just such a stupid thing to say. I mean, chirp all you want on the ice, but saying that to a reporter?

btw, freak accident IMO.
