Nothing stopped him from playing Rempe.

As a matter of fact, Rempe played more minutes Game 2 and they didn't have the same defensive, clusterf*** breakdown in the 3rd.

Rempe not getting the minutes isn't a knock on Rempe: it's a knock on Lavy.
On the road, it's harder to avoid bad matchups. We don't need Rempe out there against Barkov's line. That's why he only played 4 minutes yesterday.

I'd rather play against Skinner than Oettinger.

Goalie isn't as important when you have two of the best five playoff performers of all time on your team.

Is it really a knock on Lavy? I have defended Rempe on the main boards but you're making Rempe into something more than he is.

Being on the road changes things drastically...especially at the rate we kept losing faceoffs.

Wherever the keg is!

You can still utilize him a bit more and give other guys a little more breathing room.

And as was mentioned previously: has Tkachuk been playing with the same intensity as he did Game 1? Why is that?

Rempe wasn't the problem last game. He even helped with the 2nd goal.

You didn't see the game: go read that game thread again. Trouba and Miller were horrendous.

I believe that Trouba and Miller were horrendous. All I'm saying that the Rempe love affair is getting blown out of proportion. Now I probably overreacted and you just meant he could have been played like a regular 4th liner then fair enough.

What love affair?

You can't justify Lavy dressing a forward and giving him less than 5 minutes and then be oblivious to the Trouba-Miller pairing last game.

And that pairing has been dog shit for most of the season.

Dallas wandering around the ice with their heads up their asses.

Lots of talent on that team but absolutely zero structure. The lack of discipline is pretty amusing actually.

Murray when he was good?

He didn't really suck until he started to get hurt.
But also Murray when he was 'fresh'. 13 reg season games in '16 then the playoff run, then 45 in '17 and only 11 in the playoffs.
Because the Pens could run Fluery for most of the reg season (and have a bunch of future HOFers who could bail their goalies out) they could go to a relatively fresh, 'average' goalie who only needed to play 8 weeks of good hockey.
Average goalie getting hot at the right time seems to bring more success then having the best goalie. But at least some of that is because there's lots of average goalies...

Nice work Dallas!
