You can always tell the Leafs are losing when Ryan Reaves starts trending.
Just took a gander over at the Leafs board. The pitchforks are out for him and Klingberg. That board basically echoing the Reaves debate this board had for a couple of years.

On a related note, there's gonna be a Bass Reeves drama series debuting.

Makes me feel downright thankful for being 9-2-1 despite our problems.

Reaves does nothing useful on the ice except for following "suspect" players and then maybe hits them...ONCE

Every year that goes by continues to perpetuate the uselessness that Reaves (and his ilk) provides to teams

but did you see him dissing players to the media after? That's worth a 3-year deal on its own.

I didn't mind Reaves year one too much but year two he wasn't cutting it and then there was the he said/no I didn't of being mad about being benched and wanting a trade

Dude thinks he still contributes a lot on the ice. He doesn't. It's hard for him to accept that.

No Will Cuylle on this list? Who made this crap?

I gotta give Leafs fans credit, they’ve realized the shittiness of the Reaves signing in record time. I can only imagine how unhinged the Reaves truthers were on here a couple years ago

Edm, Chi and Calgary in the bottom 5 pleases me no end.

The NHL Star Chamber will be burning the midnight oil scheming how they'll get McDickhead and Bedard to the play-offs.

Disappointed in Step to read this. Im hoping he is just kidding. If not he shortchanged himself, his teammates and the teams paying him.
I agree I lost a lot of respect for Stepan after seeing this. Imagine if he put in actual effort to better himself. He got by in the NHL because he had a high IQ. He was a lousy skater, an awful shooter, sucked on faceoffs, and was soft as a baby’s ass.

In the old days (1970s) this kind of offseason approach was okay but nowadays? I remember when Stamkos was a UFA. I pushed hard for him. Several people on this board said Stepan was almost as good for much less money. They said Stamkos was declining. I thought they were nuts. Well they are the same age. Stamkos is still producing while Stepan stopped producing 6 years ago.

Part of me thinks he's kidding and part of me thinks he isn't. I'm not too sure to be honest

He isn't being completely serious. There is no way his off season work involved 1 day a week of training. He would have never made it through a camp with Torts if that were the case.

It also clearly wasn't a massive priority for him. It may come as a shock to most people here, but it isn't top priority for 99.9% of NHL players either. Not everyone is going to be MacKinnon.

One of my favorite sports books is “Losing the Edge” about the 1993-1995 Rangers teams.

It details that Brian Leetch was also not a big fan of off-season fitness or training and that he regularly spent the summers drinking it up with his friends lmao.
Was that the one that chronicled Sergei Zubov sucking down dart after dart worried he'd get traded?

I read a book that had that. It also had Zubov sucking down ciggs after practice because he was a Russian in the 90s.
