there pacing similarly. lets see if PLD takes off like Zibs did in his age 25 season.

I feel as if Zibs has so much more to offer at even strength.
I hope you're right. He was a giant disappointment all season 5v5.

PLD might be a head case, but if he's happy in LA & morphs full time into the player we saw when CBJ eliminated the Leafs in 2020, the Kings are going to be dangerous.

Mika hasn't been good even strength since a while, but a lot of that is due to us using him as a shut down center. Laviolette will more than likely put together a shut down line, something like Kreider Trochek and Vesey imo.

On paper they are getting better but I wonder if they are doing that thing where you swap too many players for new guys and it kills the magic.

Devils are a fast team. I’m not sure if Toffoli is a good fit because he’s not a good skater.

With the Devils adding Toffoli’s salary, does that take them out of the Hellebuyck sweepsteaks?

That was my initial take on this as well. This move tells me that they haven’t properly assessed why they lost last year. They stopped playing fast and seem to be leaning into that again because they think that’s what needs to happen to win in the playoffs.

He got too complacent with that one-timer of his and feeding Kreider. He is capable of scoring multiple ways.

He constantly passes when he should be shooting. Even when he takes the puck to the net, he's looking pass first.

I'm honestly unclear what we have in him, other than being a complete power play specialist.

He did shoot, but almost all of them were one timers, and most missed the net. If he wasn't doing that, then, yeah, he was passing.

The guy also posseses a mean wrister, can deke to score goals, and he showed previously he can tip and clean-up rebounds.

Not looking to offer-sheet him but am curious. What's the 'walk-away' number for K'Andre? Best guestimate

CBA question
Zadina waived, 2 more years at Cap Hit $1.8+
IF NOT claimed, does DRW get any off-season benefit from Waiving now?

reports have not (yet) said 'Unconditional'
so it does not seem like terminate and return to Europe situation,
he'd be forfeiting >$4.5M
(salary is increasing each contract year - $900K>1.8M>2,7M)
