Seeding probably going to come down to the last game of the season for Pens and piles
with both wanting to lose to face us

fans of other teams see the same thing we see. They are the Rangers as the winnable matchup compared to carolina, boston, florida, toronto.

and honestly it comes down to our stars. They feel that fox and panarin can be neutralized, and nothing else beyond shesterkin scares them. Zibanejad and Kreider put no fear into other fans especially this year. what makes a top line a top line is even strength production against tough matchups. 20-93-?? have not done that this year. They didn't do it last year in the playoffs. I'm not even sure they did it two years ago - i feel like the bust line carried us.

I know there are a lot of people who feel like not being optimistic is a referendum on quality of fanhood, but on paper this top 6 issue is worrisome.

I can assure you that other fanbases see Kreider who has scored 52,36,37+ goals the last 3 years and are worried about him beating them. It's just this fanbase that likes to pretend everyone on the team is terrible.

I highly doubt that. It's just the cool thing to do to pretend the team is bad so you can say I told you so if they lose at some point. Do you fear Tampa at 5v5? Did you know Tampa has scored less 5v5 goals than the Rangers?

listen you can argue against the guy you're creating in your head, or you can actually respond to what i personally am saying.

Bad 5v5 goal scorer Chris Krieder has a better G/60 than Connor McDavid, Roope Hintz, Brad Marchand, Dylan Larkin, Aleksander Barkov, Jason Robertson, Jesper Bratt, Leon Draisaitl, Matthew Tkachuk, Elias Pettersson, Jack Hughes, and many more players this year. Guess 90% of the league is bad at scoring goals.

Most people fear Tampa overall because of their high end talent, Goaltending, PP, and vets who have been through the wars. That's the point. Just because their 5 on 5 is not as good does not mean they aren't an extremely dangerous team. Same for the Rangers.

lol like i said you have a specific rangers fan in your head and you are projecting that dudes opinions onto me so you can say your piece. whatever.

if you take a second - i wasn't even talking about my personal opinion. I was talking about the opinions of other fanbases.

it's not that tampa's stars have been through the wars. it's that tampas stars have gotten them to the top of the mountain.

ok retraction my personal opinion did make it into the post you're responding to. mea culpa. the point i was trying to make was about how other fanbases view our team as the easy 1st round matchup

Unless they are very dumb or drunk no fanbase views the Rangers as an easy 1st round opponent. I would only expect that from the Devils fanbase which is delusional.

do you have buddies who are fans of any of these other teams? i think it's interesting anecdotally, if ultimately irrelevant.
My real life non-Ranger fan friends: Rangers are good
Any non-Ranger HFBoard (especially Main): I swear I saw an "e" next to their logo on ESPN's standings. Interesting, what's the difference between them and Columbus? Jail Rempe!

Carolina proving even more (IMO) that they are frauds. Barely up 2-0 in the third at home vs a Columbus team who played last night.

Pens are only team I'm slightly worried about. That's mostly because I'm 36 and know the power of Sidney Crosby, and see what's happening right now. To put it best:

I wouldn’t call a team a fraud for only being up 2 goals on cbj considering our record against them…

I mean this more as a continuance of previous points I've made, not really a specific point vs Columbus. They have not struck me as scary since their deadline moves.

Just another example imo of them being more good vs elite.
