Stairway To Heaven
Piles lose. They have more loses than wins and yet are in 2nd place. They love those loser points.
Gorton's infrastructure (or lack thereof) wasn't equipped to handle players with any kind of conflict in their DNA.Why again did the Rangers trade JT Miller?

At least they were smart enough not to give him away for less than a 1st rounder. Why again did the Lighting trade JT Miller?
Cap space and half decent return. Why again did the Lighting trade JT Miller?
Maybe, but doubt it. Change of scenery, change of coaches sometimes does the trick. Can't fire a coach because a young talent isn't producing or "meeting" expectations. Also, can't wait forever, right? You just hope that your GM can "find" that type of player, and not relinquish "too soon". It's a mixed bag of LUCK. IMO.JT Miller looked like a Brandon Dubinsky tier player at best with us. Maybe it's a lesson to not give up on young talent.
Gorton relieved AV a few months after the trade. He could've kept the player.that was all av
That trade turned out to be a disaster for the Rangers. It also kept the Islanders from winning back to back pandemic Cups.JT Miller looked like a Brandon Dubinsky tier player at best with us. Maybe it's a lesson to not give up on young talent.
But 50 pt Dubinsky was a very useful player, who was also able to be used in a package for a 'star'.JT Miller looked like a Brandon Dubinsky tier player at best with us. Maybe it's a lesson to not give up on young talent.
Miller had an attitude problem when he was here. It was thought that he would continue to hurt teams more than help them with both his on ice and off ice antics. But 50 pt Dubinsky was a very useful player, who was also able to be used in a package for a 'star'.
Miller who was putting up at least Dubinsky pt seasons at a slightly younger age, was let go for nothing...
I don't think anyone has ever denied his attitude issues. I'd certainly challenge the notion that he was hurting us more than helping, and I'd probably argue against TBL 'giving up' on him as they traded for assets to go in a different direction (I don't think we 'gave up' on Buch, we made a hockey trade) to go in a different direction).Miller had an attitude problem when he was here. To be fair, he had the same issue in Tampa.
It took two teams to give up on him before he realized he needed to adjust his attitude and play to be an NHL player.
Miller had a knack for taking undisciplined penalties at the absolute worst possible time.I don't think anyone has ever denied his attitude issues. My issues at the time (and I guess still now)
- the team/franchise was so inept that they didn't have anyone available to them to help Miller with his attitude issues. And this includes such 'leaders' as Hank, Kreider, Stepan, Nash, Staal, Girardi and of course McD
- that having decided that they simply couldn't deal with the immense attitude problem, the team basically gave away a 24 year old, 50+ scorer, for free
I cannot believe some of you guys are still dying on this hill. Miller was young & immature..self admittedly he needed to change his attitude & figure it out. That doesn't change the fact that we royally f***ed up by literally giving him away for...checks notes...absolutely nothing in return. Gorton deserved to be fired based on that trade alone....my only wish is we could fire him again.Miller had a knack for taking undisciplined penalties at the absolute worst possible time.
He earned the nickname "bozo" because of this.
This was wasn't a one off thing... it was a consistent occurrence... On high pressure end of game situations, he made it harder to win because of his immaturity.
As far as Tampa giving up on him, a team poised to win a Stanley cup decided the juice wasn't worth the squeeze with miller. That has to effect your mindset and your own perceived value. They did get more of a return, but that's because it was clear the Rangers needed to trade McDonagh, and Yzerman just abused Gorton.

He still hasn't scored 50, so nobody is acting like he was. However those of us who were rightfully livid at the time of the trade saw the potential with this kid. There was zero reason to include him as a throw in.Oh 100%
But let's not act like Miller was a 50 goal scorer when he was traded either.
Two teams traded him for garbage before he figure it out
Aint that the f***ing truth. If you ever lived out west & needed medical attention, you'd be appalled. We’re in a competence crisis. Especially in occupations where lives rely on you. It’s frightening.
didn't he get this nickname (at least on here) because one poster is a child and likes to repeat themselves a lot?He earned the nickname "bozo" because of this.

I’m enjoying this Penguins season way too much.View attachment 784925
This might be one of the worst game cards I’ve ever seen
