This a great one. Warner Wolf. Rangers are wearing the John Ferguson sweaters. Rangers and Flyers. Love the fight at the end of the game.

Warner was great, but Jerry Girard on Channel 11 was on a different level than all of his contemporaries. He would've been a household name nationwide if sportscenter showed up 15 years earlier.

I moved from NY to Texas. It was such a cheaper easier way of life when I did. It was a great change. Problem is some areas of Texas are getting expensive now with so many people moving there.

@LokiDog I have a financial background. If I can help feel free to message me. Please do keep in mind tough times are temporary. I know a person that was down to his last 5 cents with $60k in debt in 2009 and now he is pretty well off. Hoping things go your way soon.

It’s sounding more and more likely as we navigate that we’ll make the move, either back to North TX or the Nashville suburbs, maybe KY, maybe FL. I have several very good, lifelong friends from the military in each of those areas so we’re kinda polling them and their wives about each area a bit, contemplating a road trip or two to check out the ones my wife isn’t familiar with. I’ve got quite a few applications out, mostly in staffing/sales/HR type roles but also to the NSH PD, Tyler TX PD, Prosper TX PD, Little Elm TX PD. I’m holding off on the Dallas PD proper as it’s a fairly dangerous department these days, but going back into LE honestly would be refreshing if I could strike a balance (for my wife’s mental health) in terms of acceptable risk.

Wherever you end up Im sure these tough times will pass. Some areas of Florida and Texas have had large inflation the last 3 years but there are still places that are good values. Would you and your wife be okay with a LE based desk job? I have thought about Tennessee or Kentucky myself. If you end up either place Id like to hear about it. If you need to vent we are here for you. :)

She’d definitely be okay with a desk job, and frankly I think she’d be fine with me being ‘boots on the ground’ in a really peaceful and safe county as well. There’s a big difference between departments like Dallas PD and a smaller township like Prosper, TX.

I actually look at some homes 30 minutes away because Id like a home with 1-2 acres. Keep us up to date with how it goes.

Word is that Galchenyuk got arrested. Hit and run. If its true that is too bad. Kid was just oozing talent when he was drafted. Could have been a star now we may never see him even carve himself out a decent career at all.

DeAngelo is a great buy at league minimum even with the baggage.

He’s kept his nose clean since leaving NY as far as I know. Expect Carolina to jump on that.

It is quite amazing how he’s been bought out twice after his 2020 season (top 5 in 5v5 scoring while carrying around Staal is an amazing feat.)

Tony is good at offense and bad at defense.

This shit with him getting dumped by another team. Tampa, Arizona, Rangers, Flyers (the last two paying him to go away).....if he really was a good player and if he weren't such a problem child to deal with he would have found a permanent home.

Well that escalated quickly

Yeah, he was sober. Suuuuuuurrrrrreeee.

The officer pulled the car over and noticed both men were heavily impaired. Galchenyuk became agitated and began making erratic movements, and the officer asked him to step out of the car. Galchenyuk struggled with the officer before being handcuffed with the help of the officer in training, the report said.

Galchenyuk made the threats and repeatedly uttered the racial slur as he was driven to the Scottsdale jail, police said. He was booked on misdemeanor charges and released the next day on his own recognizance.
