A little bit of revisionist history on Zucc. Some said they wouldn’t give up the 1st next year but most were just being average NYR negative Nelly’s

Have to remember Zucc went there and immediately got injured for the rest of the reg season. No one knew if he would have chemistry.

Let’s say he goes O for the next couple games and they’re eliminated... I think there’s a good chance they resign him. If he plays well and they win there’s a better chance.

Re: Zucc re-signing. I think people misunderstand the conditional picks in the NHL. My impression is that it's not the trading team trying to "get more" in the event that the player re-signs with no knowledge of whether or not the acquiring team will try to sign him; rather, I think it's the acquiring team expressing an interest in keeping him, but not being certain whether or not they'll be able to do so.

Interesting take and I think I'd agree.

Just yesterday, my delusion Islanders friend said that the Islanders could host the next two rounds and that home ice was so important. I said, yeah, so important that you lost both games there.
They're delusional alright. They thought they'd get past Carolina easy after beating the "great" Pittsburgh Penguins. The Penguins team this year is beaten up and tired. They look done and ready for a rebuild/retool, but oh, don't tell that to Islander fans.

It's worse than delusional. They're so manic/depressive. If they're in first in November, they're going to the Stanley Cup. If they lose a few games, they're not making the playoffs. If they win the first round, they're going to the Cup. Lost both games at home, it's over. Oh wait, they can still be the home team for the Cup. Down by one goal last night, it's over.

The Rangers make the playoffs 10 years in a row, they think it's a failure because we never won the Cup.
They make the playoffs, it's ok if they don't win a round because they weren't expected to make the playoffs and just making it is a success. Win the first round and the season was a success, yet it wasn't for the Rangers under the same guidelines.

It's hilarious to follow their fragile psyche and hypocrisy.

Islanders should feel thankful they got matched up with a lifeless and unmotivated Pittsburgh team. Most teams in the playoffs this year would have steamrolled them.

The Isles ran over the Pens because the Pens were really playing that badly

Isles aren’t able to take advantage of the Canes blueline like they did the Pens (except Dougie but it’s Dougie so...)

Exactly. Don’t want to see any funny business from a Carolina, bury them in Game 4 at home.

I'm not comfortable counting the Islanders out until they're actually out. Nothing to do with them in particular, more because we lost the friggin Stanley Cup in 2014 to a team that was down 3-0 in round 1.

I feel like DAL should be leading the series. Bishop has been average
Yeah, he's looked average after playing great in round 1.

I personally hate Bishop and his style of play, I usually think of him as the best worst goalie in the league when he's good and the worst good goalie when he's off.

They even got a Bishop T-shirt..

If it ends up a Hurricanes vs Stars/Avs final a couple folks are gonna make a ton of money on that bet.
