This is why the rebuild was so important. We needed to draft and develop talented forwards so badly.

It's just phenomenal the talent pool we now have. Listen, I know a few of y'all in here had your misgiving about Gorton as opinions were voiced. But let's be honest, the job he's done since he got the keys to the car from Sather has been nothing short of spectacular. I mean other than the Shatty signing and I admit, I was all for it, pretty much everything he's done has come up spades and that includes dealing Zucc to the Stars for what looks like is going to be a first round pick this upcoming summer.

Seriously, I am not sure this offseason could have gone any better for us...I mean I guess it can but I can't think of how...lol

Wow...no call on Perron there....Well Perron is going to pay shortly likely in the 3rd period as some Star player is going to take him out. That is totally unacceptable....

Would have been interesting if Jim Montgomery would have ended up our coach instead of Quinn as the two of them were pretty much the two finalists for the Rangers head coaching gig. From what I've seen of Montgomery and don't get me wrong I love the Quinn hire, I think Montgomery would have been just as good a hire as he's a hell of good coach and has gotten everything possible from a Stars team that let's be honest is pretty much a one line team with a solid d-corps and a goalie who is so friggen big, he doesn't even have to do much...lol

Well someone asked before and the research staff at NBCSN came thru just now. There have been only 3 teams that have done what the Philes hopefully are about to do which is sweep a team in a round and than the following round get swept themselves. They are as follows:

1993 Buffalo Sabres...Montreal did it to them after Sabres had just swept the Bruins. Habs went on to win the Cup that year which is last time they have done that.

1972 Chicago Black Hawks
1970 Chicago Black Hawks

Reactions: Wicked Backhand
Everything is set up for a nasty 3rd period. With a fairly comfy 4-1 score for the Stars, I can easily see a line brawl for sure after the refs didn't call the Perron slash on Biship followed by the spear by Benn on Binnington. We shall see soon enough boys
