I hate to say it, but if I were an Isles fan, I wouldn't be worried. Canes are a fast team, but the Isles are just a little faster. The puck had a hard time going in for both teams last night. Both teams had glorious chances. I'm speaking objectively. I want the Canes to win this series obviously. They look evenly matched right now, but I'm concerned that the Isles' pace will wear them down.

We shall see. I for one hope the Isles get trounced.

Unreal. You literally watched the teams whom have played a lot of PO games the last ten years get smoked in the first round by younger, hungrier & quicker teams. Watching Washington at the halfway mark of game 7 2OT was almost embarrassing. Happened all over the place.

*edit*

Sorry I deviated, Pisles fans are f***in’ bonkers. Canes come off a monster game 7 and defend extremely well, on the road, against an INSANELY well rested Pisles team. Isles better bring their goals the next game. That was sad and hilarious, I was watching the end of OT and I was laughing at everyone sadly filing out of Barclays, was like watching a beautiful symphony or something.

I was watching Ovie before the end of that first overtime--he was just huffing and puffing and Carolina really carried the play and I was think the only way the Caps are going to win this is with a lucky some kind of clown show break/shot. The Caps ain't exactly young and they had a short summer and everyone gunning for them from the beginning of the year. Goes with the program--it's really hard to follow up a Stanley Cup with another Stanley Cup.

As for the Pens they're a bit further down the road than the Caps--they've got about a season or two before they're in the same place we were when Gorton and Sather wrote the letter. They've traded off a ton of draft picks and youth the past several years and don't have a lot in the back. Their overall depth is weakening and Crosby, Malkin and Letang are slowing down. What's more the shine has worn off of Mario quite a bit. They can't depend on a tank to get them another generational player. This time there are rules to play by and the lottery as well. I wasn't surprised at all that the Islanders shellacked them but that's not because I think the Islanders are all that terrific--it's just that the Pens are not what they were. The Isles are just younger and have more energy but the Islanders IMO will take a step back next year and maybe a serious step---they're going to lose some key players.

I would be worried, Canes are 3-0 at home and just stole one on the road.

The first ten minutes were garbage. It's been good stuff since.

If Zucc keeps up his decent play, they should be re-signing him... surely.

Not sure where else to post this but I was at MSG earlier and they had about 2 dozen of the ‘94 Stanley cup Starter hats available

I know a few people were looking for them
