Ovechkin should win the Hart.

The Hart is for the most valuable player to his team. Pittsburgh is doing just as well without Crosby. Ovechkin turning it up turned a team that people said was out of the playoffs halfway through the season to a top contender. That's what the Hart is for.

Once Ovechkin stopped pouting and got over his trauma of playing under Dale Hunter, he is back to being an incredible player.
Bad move by George McPhee in hiring a short term coach last year (Dale Hunter never intended to stay, he has a hugely profitable thing going with the CHL London Knights, huge profits).
He alienated their number one player, and lets face it, there are not many Ovechkins around. The guy is amazing when he is motivated.

Not only are they making the playoffs, but theyre probably going to win the division and home ice as well. If it's a Richard and Ross for OV, and a division for the Caps, after their start.....it's going to knock Crosby way down in votes.

Tavares would be a good candidate as well. Ovechkin has been on a tear lately though. Unreal.

1-0, Edler with a bomb.

Vancouver PP was getting a ton of possession, they had a 5 on 4 and 5 on 3....great PKing by the Wings kept them off the board for a while, but the Canucks scored at the end of the PP. Lot of skill in Vancouver, they're getting hot.

Canucks have been playing great hockey lately.
They are a better team than they were a year ago. I recall arguing with a Canucks fan about the Hodgson for Kassian trade, but he could not understand that it was not that Hodgson was bad (far from it ) it was more about what the Canucks needed to fix.

To avoid starting another thread, how does a years subscription to Game Center work?

Say I bought the subscription on my birthday in July, does it roll for a year or would it just be for the whole 13-14 season? I'm assuming the latter

They have a worse PP than us. The entire season! :amazed:

So that commercial that is supposed to highlight all the whacky characters in the NHL... Can someone explain how with all of the great sound bites that Torts has they choose one where he says "does anyone else have a questions?". It's like the people coming up with the commercial thought of using a Torts clip but forgot that casual fans and non-fans don't automatically associate Torts with whacky press conferences.

FAN POLL: TOP OF THE HEAPWho is most likely to overtake Sidney Crosby (56 points) as the NHL's top scorer?
Steven Stamkos (53 points) Martin St. Louis (53 points Alex Ovechking (51 points) Patrick Kane (51 points)

This was on NHL.com

 ****ing interns.

It's insane to think about how much Ovy is scoring this year and considering it when everybody was writing about how he wasn't an elite goalscorer any longer.

Ovechkin is the best goal scorer in the league. I'd take him over Stamkos. In before Leafs fans come in saying Kessel ;)
The only 4 players I take ahead of Ovechkin are
1.Crosby
2.Karlsson
3.Malkin
4.Datsyuk
5.Hank (but we already have him so I counted 4)

Would love to see some other lists, and how many players would YOU take over Ovie?
He may arguably be already one of the greatest LWs of all-time.

Toews

Toews will probably never hit 100 points. He's a great player, but his cup was won a ridiculously stacked team. Great player, but not better than Ovechkin, he hasn't even hit a PPG yet.
