Winnipeg isn't in a playoff spot. That scenario would put the Devils in 9th.

Devils have to go 4-0-1 and the Rangers have to go 0-4-0 for the Devils to get into the playoffs. The Devils can't get the ROW tie-break over of the Rangers in any situation. And the Jets would also have to go 1-3-0 at best.

Yes don't forget Newark leads league in loser points so that has hurt their ROW placing.

So... I guess we root for an Islanders regulation win tomorrow? I think worst case scenario is the Jets with an OT win.

Would a jets regulation win be such a bad thing? We are only one point behind the islanders, but I guess most are correct. We probably have to be conservative and root for the islanders to win in regulation.

Both are the same, to me. The Rangers have more possible points than either team, as long as the game doesn't go into OT.

Rooting against the Caps works too.. Jets and Caps still play each other once more..

Amazing atmosphere in Calgary for Kipper's last home game.

...And of course Gamecenter cuts off before I get to see the 3 stars announcements and how loudly they'd cheer for Kipper.

"The Rangers scored fourteen goals in 24 hours. The Devils needed eleven GAMES to get that" (during their 10 game losing streak + beating philly)

That is delicious.

If the Washington bluered birds lose and the Winnipeg airplanes win, they will swap places and be virtually tied as far as we're concerned. That will still place the Winnipeg airplanes behind us even though they're in 3rd place having played 1 more game. In other words, If one of those 2 teams lose in regulation, we will have either a 1 game 2 point advantage or 2 teams each with a game behind us and bidding us out of the playoffs only if we have a record that's equal or worse than theirs in almost any manner in the final 4 games for us, 3 games for them. If they both win, it'll be an uphill battle.

If the Caps win, realistically, we're battling the Jets and the Jets alone for the spot so I'd very much rather see the Caps lose. It's almost as important as seeing the Jets lose.

Or WPG and WSH lose and it creates more space between us and 9th.

It's all about OTT/NYI losing at this point. I think 6th and 7th are good spots for us. Feed 8th to someone else.

I don't understand how you guys can talk about 6th or 7th so nonchalantly when we haven't even secured anything!

Win the next 4 and watch Toronto miss the playoffs again.
That would be something

1 Pittsburgh
2 Montreal
3 Winnipeg 56 points
4 Boston
5 Ottawa 58 points
6 NYR 58 points
7 Washington 56 points
8 Fishstix 56 points
----------------------------------
9 Toronto 55 points

That would be pure magic IMO!!!
Toronto would go up in flames

All I am rooting for in the WPG/NYI game is no overtime. Any other result is whatever. NYI win being the best option.
