Hayes on the Rangers was noticeable. Hayes on the Jets is Where's Waldo?
He isn’t the only one. He’s showed up a few games in this series at least but I agree tonight he’s been pretty bad

Hayes is definitely hurting his FA price. Have to think teams are swaying away, but being a rental is not easy. He knows he won't be there long term, so he is probably in a hotel. In Winnipeg. Coming from living in Manhattan.

Just like we stayed away from Shattenkirk... teams aren’t going to be deterred unless he completely shits the bed, which he hasn’t. He’s made some good plays in his time in the Peg, even if he’s been inconsistent .

You keep bringing up Vegas - here are the odds at the start of the playoffs:

5/2—Tampa Bay Lightning
8/1—Calgary Flames
9/1—Boston Bruins
10/1—Washington Capitals, Winnipeg Jets
12/1—Nashville Predators, San Jose Sharks, St Louis Blues
20/1—Carolina Hurricanes, New York Islanders, Pittsburgh Penguins, Toronto Maple Leafs, Vegas Golden Knights
25/1—Colorado Avalanche
28/1—Dallas Stars
33/1—Columbus Blue Jackets

See that 20/1 line? It's got the two teams in it that we're talking about. How can they be the underdog if they've got the same odds to win the Cup and this is using YOUR metric.

Sorry, I've been following the league all season long via Center Ice and the Penguins did nothing to impress me. I'm not a betting guy, but if I were I would've been all in on the Islanders matching up vs. the Pens.

Those things are made independently and do not always necessarily align. This is the exact example I was talking up earlier with Tiger Woods which is on a futures bet they can kind of adjust the odds downwards since they cannot be exploited by someone betting the other side. Also these are extremely low limit bets which means they are not particularly incentivized to be very efficient. Here's some info saying basically the same thing I am - Sports Futures Betting - Guide To Betting On Sports Futures. It says some things that are incorrect but it is mostly true.

I also never said I thought the Penguins were good. I don't think the Penguins were a very good team. I think the Metro as a whole was extremely weak this year and posted that a month or two ago in some main board thread (where I was promptly told the Metro was actually "easily" the best division in hockey). You can find this in my post history where I said I pretty much didn't think any team in the division was any good (I kind of liked Carolina though their goaltending is a major issue and Columbus if they ever figured it out)
