Grey area - the thing about it is if you don't challenge there and lose 1-0 you'll be forever lamenting that you didn't challenge. Sometimes it might be a 50/50 shot and you either pull the trigger or you don't. Hindsight is easy on this one.

I don't think it was a great challenge, either, but it had a chance.

Hayes needs a ton of time with the puck, but I feel like it's common to trade for a rental and shove him down the depth chart, even when Plan A isn't working. Kind of reminds me of Eric Staal the Ranger.
