Honestly I think it’s more that these 8 seeds are outliers

Most 8 seeds don’t have a player as good MacKinnon, let alone Rantanen. Those are guys that can win a series by themselves practially. And the Blue Jackets roster is just far superior to a typical 8 seed. They’re like the 11-12 Rangers on steroids.

It certainly is unusual to see that talent in an 8th seed. Let’s be that 8th seed with Kakko and Kvavtsov in 2021.

I love Zucc but if Dallas winds up losing this series this way there is no chance they are resigning him

Makar has put on a lot of beef since I last watched him at the WJC. Not that that is surprising after all that time but now he has the mass and power to go with the skating.

Since starting out the playoffs gloriously If Dallas loses tonight our draft capital teams have gone 0-3 (0-6 including tb)

This is why I didn’t give a **** that they won the 1 that year

Hischier is really good but those guys are franchise players

Weird draft. How were Heiskanen and Peterrsson not taken higher? Just crazy.

Patrick was deemed to be the guy for years, it takes balls to pass on someone like that. The other 2 went 3 and 5 so it's not like they were that far off. Makar was my guy that year, I wanted to trade up sooo badly to get him.

But thankfully the Flyers and Devils f'd that one up. Fortunately for Nico, he'll be able to play behind an actual #1.

zucc and heiskanen doing everything they can to help the stars get back into this one

Flames and Tb. Only shocked about the latter losing in round 1. Mike Smith was pretty good in games 1 and 2 and best flames could do at home was 1-1.
