The fact Anaheim only has two games scares me. I hope they can find a way to get at least a point against calgary. Then of course they have to beat LA. The Rangers could end up with 79 points (actually more points than last year)

I posted that before today's game thinking they'd beat the Devils and Sens. Not feeling as good as I was about 6th as I did at about 11 AM today lol.

The Sabres aren't even fighting it anymore. It's actually pathetic watching this. They've gone limp while getting pounded from behind. The Devils with their 12 injuries played with more urgency and pride than this. Buffalo has solidify their spot as the most pathetic franchise in the East.

Sabres not even putting up a fight. They should be disqualified from the draft lottery lol

Yeah it’s pretty sad. I get the tank, I’m not a pro-tanker, sure I joke about it, but how many years is a team going to tank? Thought this would be the season Buffalo makes the playoffs, makes a little noise, and starts building from that for next season. They have gone backwards. Which is really hard to do in their position.

Sounds like they need a character and heart and soul veteran like Marc Staal.

Based on what? Other than his size\fragility the kid is as talented as any player since mcjesus came into the league.
He's not McDavid/Crosby/Ovechkin/Malkin (yes, I know Malkin was 2nd).

I would argue he's not even Tavares or MacKinnon.

He's an excellent prospect but he's not worth Kreider + our highest pick. For that price, I want a guaranteed perennial Hart candidate. Hughes is not that.

Graphical standings of just the second half of the season... Buffalo wyd

I think he's Patrick Kane.

I'd trade cozens and kreider for an 18 year old Patrick kane in a nanosecond.

I turned on the game late and I thought the Blue Jackets were on a 5 on 3 PP considering the way they were controlling the puck. Nope, it was 5 on 5. Pathetic effort once again. At least they're consistent. With these last couple of wins, we can just forget about them. Our best hope is that we hang on to 6th and don't get passed by anyone only ahead by a point or two.

Linus Ullmark looks like a NHL'95 AI goalie on the Foligno wrap around. I swear the players on that team are absolutely broken. I'm sure BUF offered Skinner an extension (speculation) but he's probably so glad right now he didn't take it.

I don't even think he's that. I see him as an elite center, not a franchise center.

From watching him play over the past 2 years (albeit only about a dozen games) and after reading scouting reports his ceiling is a franchise center. Obviously things could turn south but if he hits his ceiling we are talking Austin Matthews level, maybe Austin Matthews lite.

Kid has some serious skills. Now if I'd move Kreider plus the #5/6 I'd say yes, though I'd doubt the Avs would make that trade (if they won the lotto).

I hate to admit this, but you gotta hope Edmonton or Buffalo wins the lottery, those are the only two teams I could see trading the pick if it meant improving their teams depth and talent level overall.

It's truly amazing how much he's being downplayed as a talent. I'm a big Hughes fan...the kid is special. He's got like top 5 in the NHL skating the day he steps onto the ice with hands to match. He's got top 10 level passing as well. His shot is just good, not great, and he's not big so I'm a little worried about his durability. But he's a franchise level center Imho.. .. 0 doubts at all from me.

The games played figure for starting goalies around the league is ridiculously low this year... only a handful of guys are going to hit 60 games.

Is that a fluke? Or is this the new normal?
