Strangely enough, the Rangers are pushing for the fifth spot in the draft, just as I am solidifying my belief that there’s not a heck of a whole lot of difference between the guys I have slotted 3-7. And for all I know, the player the Rangers take in either slot may be the same.

Still want them to end up with as high of a pre-lottery pick as possible though. Helps safeguard against dropping, and I’d prefer they not have to to trade up to get the guy they really want. I’d rather them pool those resources to move up with their other first rounder.

If the Rangers finish 5th worst they will have a 95.7% chance of picking no worse then 7.

And the Sabres won.......great night!
Which easily can be un-done with a win at home vs Detroit. Is Howard scheduled to play? Hank needs 1 for 450, and 2 more wins for 20 in each of his 14 seasons.
Also, does everyone realize Hank hasn't had a shutout this year? If he doesn't attain one, it will be his 1st season without.

I would not be surprised if we end up with the 8th pick. We can easily drop back into the 7th spot to end the season...and then I would expect a team to leapfrog us in the lottery dropping us to 8th. That said, perhaps we win the lottery and move up from 7th into the top 3...that would be nice.
