Instead of matching the other team's compete level, maybe the Rangers should exceed it for once this year.

Gabby and BR with 4 goals in 40 games. Good thing they got rid of Bickel.
 
Morrow can't even play top six minutes anymore. Really shows who has watched him and who hasn't. PP net front presence and leadership. Not much more than that.
 
3 points better LOL . They have scored 19 more than us...and have allowed 32 more...I'll give credit where it is due...we have had the luxury of a good solid defense and goalie for the most part...with strong emphasis on the latter who has carried us for the most part every season since he has been here...and all because we were lucky in the draft .

Teams around the league and their fans laugh just as often at us as they do at the other hapless teams...I'm sorry...but that is just how it is outside the Big Apple . I know...I have cheered and watched this team for over 40 years .

You guys defending our greatness are part of the problem . If this team was held more accountable by the fan base then maybe things would be different and the owners might respond by installing somebody that is more into the new era . Mind you there is nothing wrong with being a die hard fan...but it does not hurt to voice your displeasure when ineptness prevails after COUNTLESS MILLIONS have been wasted by a foolish GM and owner .

I'm not the bad guy...just telling it like I see it after watching them for over 40 years .
 
Islanders can shutout the Panthers but Rangers cant.... Islanders win 3-0
 
Islander have won 4 Cups in 34 years...we have won one in 73...but we have won a lot of series in that time . They are 1 point behind us .Hard to counter argue that kind of success . :sarcasm:

It is hard to go around bragging about how many series your team has won...when they come back with how many Cups they have won since they have been in the league . Now that is a counter argument !

Hey...my brother is an Islander fan....I know all about it guys and I am surrounded by Hab fans...so I hear it everyday there too . We have been possibly the worse US based franchise in NHL History .

It is going to take a long time to turn things around with so much parity in the NHL these days . For Decades we had more money to spend than everybody else...that is a luxury no longer afforded us . We have 1 stinking Cup to show for it because our management has been so inept in it's long term thinking and as long as the current management exists...we are moving further away from it .

I guess that this should have been posted in the Sather or Torts thread .
 
As awful as it is already, I hate how people say we won one in 73 years. Way to cut off the year before, and the other 12 or so years before that.

Chicago also won four, while winning their fourth three years ago. They also have less wins, but somehow the Rangers are unanimously worse than the Blackhawks. I don't get it.

It is subconscious hate against NYC, I have a feeling. Also, people felt sorry for CHI. No one feels sorry for the Rangers.
 
The Hawks could very well be on their way to 5 so it doesnt matter.

As far as franchises go, Blackhawks > Rangers.

At the least its tied, but I give the Hawks the edge now because of the last 5+ years. No contest.

Oh, they also have an offense. Its a thing of beauty.

If we're talking all-time, why should we only count the last 5+ years? I could cherry-pick some great Ranger seasons as well.

If they win their fifth, I guess I'll have to give them the nod, but as of right now, I don't see why the Rangers have had a worse history than the Blackhawks.

Hawks had much better players too.

Yes it is a hate...without a doubt...but mostly because we throw money around like crazy without regard to what it does to the rest of the league .

Imagine if we had of had a Toe Blake running our team since 1965 and Scotty Bowman coaching and with an unlimited budget ??? I think we would have a few extra Cups . Stupid owners are almost as bad as stupid management ...kind of go hand in hand I guess .:nod:
 
I don't care what Mackenzie says: its a terrible trade for the Pens when you consider how unproductive Morrow has been.

A 2011 1st rounder and a 3rd for a rental? Too bad goaltending is the reason why the Dynasty Pens have been playoff failures three years in a row.

Don't get me wrong--I still think Morrow can contribute. Its just a steep price to pay for a rental no matter how many young D they have in their system.

I guess Shero figures the Pens will destroy the Rangers in the first round with or without Morrow, and he'll be useful against the Bruins or Sens in the 2nd round.
