I survived the unintentionally bad years of the Dark Ages without ever losing any kind of interest. I think I'll be fine this year, especially since this is a totally new thing and there are a lot of fascinating stories around the team.
Seriously, there's already more to look forward to with practically one draft/off season into the rebuild then 7 years in the dark ages. Im excited for this year.

Yes. I'm also anticipating this season to remind me of the Dark Ages in one way: the best parts of those teams were the Dvorak-Nedved-Hlavac and Fleury-Lindros-York lines... single entertaining spots amongst all the other junk. I'm hoping Kreider-Zibanejad-Buchnevich can provide us with the same thing.

York for Poti still gets me mad to this day. The Czech connection was great to watch, Dvorak was one of my favorite players back then, he played very well for us, kind of almost like how Grabner played for us the past few years. I still wonder what happens to the Rangers and what changes if we had traded for Jagr in 2001 instead of Lindros.

Montreal just traded Pacioretty to Vegas for Tatar, Nick Suzuki and CBJ's 2nd round pick in 2019.

Jesus. That's a steep price to pay for Patches.

If Zuccarello can return anything close to this, he needs to be traded.

My initial reaction to this trade is that Montreal did very well. I don’t like Tatar all that much but Suzuki is a very valuable player and just what they need — a young rising center. Did Max have a bad year or is this the first of many steps backwards? Still hard to believe that Vegas is a win now team.

It's crazy how in less than a year Vegas went from "we're not taking any shortcuts. We are building a team from the ground up" to "f*** it. We're all in"

The most Vegas thing they could be doing.

The only thing that mars this trade in my eyes is the fact that they spent a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd to get Tatar in the first place. And Pac-man only has one year left. Trading Suzuki (still unproven) is fine if they can resign Pac-man.

That would be a lot better for Vegas if they didn't trade a 1st, 2nd, 3rd to DET for Tatar. Trades are not McPhee's strong suit. Hopefully lots of kids impress and make the team and we can sell tickets based on that cus Zucc should definitely be traded at the deadline for a decent return.

The Montreal Manlets did the only reasonable thing and traded their disgustingly overgrown captain for a couple of players who actually fit their team identity. They are likely banking on Pelletier dropping to that Vegas 2nd as well.
