Great now next year people will be complaining we can't draft a 7th round project.
And 7th rounders can be a Henke or?

Derek Dorsett's penalties were the least of this team's issues in the playoffs
Sure he showed grit and aggression, but I still stand by my point. He played like a clown out there in the playoffs, you just can't be this undisciplined in the playoffs. Look at Chicago benching Bollig after his horrendous penalty in the finals. In reality, Dorsett put the Rangers shorthanded 3 times in the Bruin's series (the one series they lost so the only one where Kershaw has any argument). Once for tripping, once for interference and once for slashing. He took Campbell off with him for 5, Thornton off for 7, Marchand off for two and Kelly off for two. I understand you may just not like Dorsett, and that's your prerogative, but he is hardly a consideration in the reasons the Bruins came out on top. In fact IMO he was a positive as one of the few players who were showing any grit and aggression. Personally I like watching him play and I'm glad he will be back. I think when healthy he brings some good intangibles and can chip in a bit offensively too.
It's an issue that can't be ignored, especially when the Rangers only killed 75% of their penalties in the playoffs. For a player that doesn't PK, doesn't provide defensive play and can't generate offense, that is simply inexcusable.
Ok, well he does PK, he is actually a pretty good defensive forward, and he can generate offense.
He was on pace for 31 points last year.
I'm sorry you don't like him, but don't make things up as you go.

I was referring strictly to Dorsett's Rangers stint in the playoffs.
Maybe Dorsett didn't PK during the playoffs because he was just coming back from an injury and jumping in front of frozen rubber a lot wasn't the best idea?
He will be a PKer on this team in the near future. He was coming back from a long layoff and had not built up the chemistry with the other guys.
I liked Dorsett. He needs to reign it in a bit, but I enjoy how he causes chaos when hes out there.
One of the few guys that had a pulse last season.
There is a difference between having a pulse and playing idiotic, undisciplined hockey out there.
Not much. Do you think guys like Simmonds, Hartnell, Lucic never take bad penalties from being overly aggressive? Of course they do. That is why they are so effective even when they aren't because it makes defenders hear skates behind them and move the puck faster than they want to, etc.

Look at those players you listed and ask yourself if Dorsett is comparable to their roles. Those are all top line players on their respective teams.
Dorsett is comparable to Max Lapierre before those guys. Maybe Cal Clutterbuck, which is fine as long he takes the BS out of his game and plays disciplined, but aggressive style.
Chris Neil, Cal Clutterbuck, Andrew Shaw, Sean Avery (when he was playing).
Aggressive players take penalties.

Wait what? simmonds, lucic, and hartnell are effective because they take penalties? What kind of terrible logic is this?
I have never heard any coach say he is fine with his 4th liners taking penalties. Those guys sit when they do that. Their game is to agitate and NOT go to the box while doing it.
