You can argue that Canada has the worst goaltending out of the contenders. But it was suspect in Vancouver as well and it turned out OK.'
 
I got my wish with Benn and Duchene making it, both deserve it.
My own view is that Nash was selected based on what he did for the team last time around. Career to date can weight the decision process appreciably with a rather unique player like Nash. In other words, he got the benefit of the doubt. His play in the last couple of games has been much more physical, and more effective.
 
He's not that unique. MSL is in a different stratosphere. And current play still has to be looked at. Nash can't live off a 4 year old reputation.
 
My preference was that Nash not be selected, based on his recent performance. Too much of a question mark for me especially with the concussion situation.

MSL will likely be the replacement for Stammer when it is announced he just will not be ready....Yzerman knows what he is doing .:)

While i would have been OK with Callahan/Stepan/McD?/Haglen/MZA staying home (to rest and not get hurt), I actually think it's good for Lundqvist and Nash to go.

For Lundqvist, i hope it wakes his ass up. Get out of NY and into a different mindset for a while. A vacation from the ordinary, at least.

For Nash, less worried about burn-out since he missed time already, and either (a) the olympics wakes him up too and he comes back to NY determined, or (b) he gets dinged again and then at least we know what we are dealing with (and if he does get bonked again over there, chances are he would have the same happen to him here at some point. thats how head injuries tend to work).
 
Devils-Flyers game is just the flyers hanging on for dear life. they can hardly get it out of their zone...

Isles-Leafs is almost a continuation of the Rangers-Leafs games. Leafs PK blows, and their defense is so atrocious it might just be worse than ours!

Also Bernier GAVE the isles a goal by leaving it to someone who said "leave it there I'll take it" on the ice, it happened to be an islander
 
Leafs are awful, Bernier had a terrible game. Isles win again.

Flyers up on the Debs. I'd rather nobody won this game.
 
Hartnell just scored from a nice pass from Schenn who got cut with a skate earlier in the game and did not miss a shift... 2-1 Flyers
 
Gionta Bernier Carter line buzzing for the Devils after they gave up that goal
 
Phaneuf, the 4th highest paid D in the league, can't crack the top 8 for Canada. I bet Boyle, Giordano, Letang, and Seabrook were all ahead of him and no one is even talking about that he didn't make the team. He's probably around 15th in the Canadian pecking order.

Top 20 NHL D my ass. Terrible contract.

I don't think that's a great barometer. I think Byfuglien is a top 20 D, and he wasn't even in the discussion to crack USA's hideous defense.
 
B.Schenn wins it in overtime only after Gionta hits the post...
 
Isles win, Devils Flyers 3 point game, excellent night for the Rangers. Hopefully teams keep winning and pass us so we're completely out of it by the deadline
